House of Blues New Anaheim Venue Unveils Opening Line-Up

unnamed

Social Distortion (credit Danny Clinch)

House of Blues Anaheim, Southern California’s newest and ultimate entertainment destination, announced its first schedule of shows to run through 2017. The venue is set to open February 28 and will offer four unique and immersive entertainment environments all under one roof, making it the most advanced House of Blues built to date and the only venue of its kind on the west coast.

Social Distortion is set to christen the House of Blues Anaheim on its first two nights, celebrating the grand opening on February 28 and performing a second night on March 1. The full schedule of shows announced includes: Billy Idol, Wu-Tang Clan, Chase Rice, Korn, Death Cab For Cutie, Jason Isbell, Café Tacvba, 311, Daya, Common, Yellowcard – The Final Show, Ramon Ayala, and Santana among many others performing in the main concert hall. Tickets for all shows are set to go on sale November 19 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

Lead singer and founding member of Social Distortion, Mike Ness said, “We are excited that we have been asked to open the new House of Blues Anaheim. We’ve performed at the House of Blues across the country many times over, but this is a special honor because it’s Orange County, our living room. See you all in February.”

“This really is an epic grand opening lineup that is unparalleled in the live music scene,” said Ben Weeden, COO of House of Blues Entertainment. “We’ve spent months curating performers and we are honored to have many artists that played the old HOB Anaheim as well as welcoming in new artists.  I think we will make Orange County proud and stay tuned for some big upcoming announcements.”

The main concert hall will host 2,200 concert goers yet still maintain the intimate feel that House of Blues is known for. The Parish will offer an even more intimate musical experience for 400 guests. Designed for singer/songwriters, local artists, smaller touring bands, and intimate showcases, the room can adjust to accommodate lounge seating or a standing-room configuration with optimum sight lines fromevery angle. The Legendary Foundation Room will be Orange County’s newest social scene and feature upscale cocktails, food and late nights, where guests can indulge in the exclusive VIP club for the ultimate access to concerts, invitation only after parties and member only events. House of Blues Restaurant and Bar will be a unique food-meets-music experience, with soulful comfort cuisine, a creative bar program and a spacious open-air patio.

All four of HOB Anaheim’s entertainment and food spaces will have the most advanced sound system of any House of Blues, and the location will feature live music every night.

“No other venue on the west coast is offering this many simultaneous entertainment options under one roof,” said Weeden. “In one night you could experience four different musical performances of different genres. It is truly going to be the ultimate live music fix.”

The first House of Blues opened in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, in November 1992. Opening 25 years later the new House of Blues Anaheim will represent the ultimate House of Blues experience, combining the best of the past with the most advanced technologies of the future.

Thanksgiving Must-Haves in the Kitchen!

0991105m1      099810m1

The LARGE GRAVY SEPARATOR is a must-have!

To create rich and flavorful gravy liquid fat must be separated from the drippings. Luckily, separating liquid fat is easy to do with this specially designed and chef approved (voted # 1 by Rachael Ray, Christopher Kimble, and the professionals at Cooks Illustrated) fat separator. This pitcher style has a large mouth and angled sprout for easy pouring (it holds a hefty 4 cups of liquid stock). Separators work for two reasons: one, because fat and water do not mix, and two, because fat always rises above the liquid in the container. Simply pour pan drippings into separator and watch the fat rise to the top while lean gravy settles to the bottom.

I can’t wait to try this one on Thanksgiving!

Here are Trudeau’s quick tips for making the perfect gravy using a Gravy Separator:

  • When the liquid settles in the container, pour it off slowly stopping just before the layer of fat floating on the liquid’s surface reaches the opening for the spout.
  • Using the integrated strainer is helpful when defatting pan drippings that are still mixed with chunks of aromatic vegetables, herb sprigs, or other flavorings, separating them ensures a smooth, rich gravy.

Retail price $16.99.

The Potato Masher is a new favorite of mine!

I tried this one out this past week because I just couldn’t wait until Thanksgiving! I mashed sweet potatoes with it and was impressed with how easy it is to use! It also seemed like it took a lot less time!

The Trudeau Potato Masher reduces strain on hands and joints and is ideal for those with arthritis or limited hand dexterity. From its extra wide comfortable horizontal handle providing more leverage and less effort to its dual sided integrated bowl scrapers this product makes the task of mashing potatoes and other vegetables faster and easier than ever.  Perfectly designed for deep pots and dishwasher safe.

Here are Trudeau’s quick tips for using a masher:

  • Be sure potatoes are thoroughly cooked
  • Use a press and twist motion with the masher
  • Add a little liquid (milk/cream) a little at a time
  • If you like the skins in your finished product, a masher is the best way to go.

Retails for $14.99.

You can find both at Trudeau!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Woof Yeah – Pup-Peroni is helping me share the deliciousness of tailgate season with my pooch!

The air is crisp, the pigskin is getting tossed around, and the grill’s getting fired up! For me, there’s no better feeling than grilling tender, juicy steaks for my buds during a football game. The succulent smell’s got my belly grumbling and my pooch’s tail wagging!
Seeing as how he’s one of my best buds, I wanted to find a way to celebrate the deliciousness of meaty grilled filet mignon and bacon with my favorite four-legged friend.
So we picked up Pup-Peroni’s new Filet Mignon & Bacon Flavors treats and brought them to the tailgate party for our pooch. And I’m glad we did – you should have seen his reaction. He could barely contain himself as he wagged, jumped and yelped all at the same time. These treats had us high-fiving in no time!

Pup-Peroni treats are no joke – they’re made with delicious real angus steak and bacon flavors that our dog absolutely loves. Plus the soft, chewy texture gets his tail wagging! I think I enjoy giving him these Filet Mignon & Bacon Flavors treats as much as he loves eating them! There’s nothing like sharing my favorite part of football season with my best friend. Woof Yeah!
No matter how you celebrate your “tail”-gate this season, you and your pooch will be saying ‘woof yeah’ to the tasty flavor of Pup-Peroni Filet Mignon & Bacon treats! Check out this fun ‘Woof Yeah’ video to see what your pup is really craving.
