Gold Emblem Easter candies from CVS are a Must-Buy this Easter!

968708448655   989612459239

I have to admit that I really love to shop for Easter candies and I love to put together the Easter Baskets. I think this year I may just have to make myself one too! At the top of my shopping list are the Gold Emblem choices found at CVS. The Jordan Almonds come in a resealable zipper pack and 11 pieces are only 180 calories. These sweet candy-coated almonds come in an assortment of pastel colors and are great for Easter baskets and filling up those plastic eggs. (Great for Moms and Dads!)  I actually think that there is more candy than Almonds but with me, that is a plus! It’s truly a sweet indulgence over the Easter holiday.

But, my favorite are the Gold Emblem Select Milk Chocolate Truffle Eggs! I may just have to keep them for myself! Even though I will most likely share. Chocolate and delicious vanilla creme! Need I say more?! This would be at the top of my Easter Basket wish list! (Hint! Hint!) Yes, hoping the hubby reads this one!

Find these and so many more Easter treats at CVS.com.

Cali National Parks Featured in Emmy-Nominated “Rock the Park”

New Death Valley Episode Premieres Saturday, April 4 at 10:30 A.M. ET

Followed by Episodes Featuring Joshua Tree, Santa Monica Mountains and Sequoia National Parks Airing This Spring.

Rock the Park,” now a Daytime Emmy-nominated adventure show geared towards teens and their entire families that airs on The CW Network and taps into America’s love affair with national parks, has partnered with Visit California to produce four episodes set in California national parks to help promote the state’s “Dream Big” brand initiative. This spring, “Rock the Park” travels to Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and Sequoia National Park, four distinct parks that capture the diversity and beauty of California. “Rock the Park” follows hosts Jack Steward and Colton Smith as they come face-to-face with some of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth. The first California national park episode is set in Death Valley and premieres Saturday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. ET during The CW and Litton Entertainment’s “One Magnificent Morning” Saturday morning lineup.

“We are excited to have ‘Rock the Park’ visit four of California’s iconic and diverse national parks,” said Caroline Beteta, president & CEO of Visit California. “California offers something for everyone, and this trip through four regions of our state will offer visitors plenty of opportunities to explore, dream and do big things.”

Visit California’s “Dream Big” platform highlights California as a place and destination for dreamers. Whether musicians, inventors, actors or outdoor enthusiasts, California’s landscapes, people and environment have always inspired residents and visitors to “Dream Big.” The platform perfectly aligns with “Rock the Park’s” mission to inspire Americans to get on the road and remind viewers that the national parks are one of America’s greatest gifts to the world.

California is home to Death Valley, the largest national park in the lower 48 states, as well as more than two dozen diverse national parks, monuments and sites, making the state a natural choice for the show to visit, offering amazing diversity in landscape, wildlife and adventure.

“California’s ‘Dream Big’ promise aligns perfectly with the spirit communicated in ‘Rock the Park.’ We celebrate the opportunity to shoot in and showcase this amazing state,” said Colleen Needles Steward, CEO of Tremendous! Entertainment, the production company behind “Rock the Park.”

In addition to the Death Valley episode on April 4, “Rock the Park” will feature:

  • Joshua Tree National Park on April 11
  • Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area on May 16
  • Sequoia National Park on June 13

Sudsy Dough Moldable Bath Soap makes bath time fun!

unnamed

Looking for something that will make children of all ages actually want to take a bath? Sudsy Dough Moldable bath soap is the perfect solution!

Sudsy Dough™ is a new interactive bath toy that doubles as a moldable scented dough and a cleansing soap! Andy and Katie Wallace created this innovative sensory soap to make bath time fun for their toddler who didn’t really enjoy time in the tub. Now she asks for a bath every night!

Kids can squeeze and squish Sudsy Dough in the bath, rub it on as a cleansing body wash, or take it outside the tub and make their own custom-shaped soaps. Sudsy dough shapes will dry to become mini bars of scented soap. Shape the dough into anything you can think up! Kids will love playing with this squishable, sensory soap in the bath.
Infused with Shea butter and coconut oil, Sudsy Dough moisturizes as it cleanses. It also comes in a variety of fragrances and colors! Sudsy Dough has a mild foaming agent that creates suds when run under water. Each ball of Sudsy Dough also has a surprise squirt toy hidden inside!

It’s Not Too Late! Get Screened For The Third Most Prevalent Cancer in the US – 1 in 20 Will Develop Colon Cancer

Getting screened for colon cancer may save your life. Despite its high incidence rate, colon cancer is unique in that it is one of the most preventable and, if found early, most treatable forms of cancer, according to the Colon Cancer Alliance, the nation’s leading patient advocacy organization dedicated to increasing colon cancer screening rates and survivorship. So, DON’T put off getting checked and DO get caught with your pants down!!!

March was Colon Cancer Awareness Month (but this is important no matter what month it is!) and to create awareness, support the efforts of the Colon Cancer Alliance and alert consumers of all ages, the RectiCare® (Lidocaine 5%) Anorectal Creambrand from Ferndale Healthcare®, Inc., has created a brochure titled “Colon Cancer Quick Facts.”  This brochure provides an easy-to-read summary of Signs, Symptoms and Screening information and statistics, which calls out the fact that one in 20 people, male and female, will develop colon cancer in their lifetime. The company hopes that raising awareness with a “quick read,” may help motivate women and men to get screened for this type of cancer, also women should begin routine mammograms & when Men should visit the Urology department for their prostate screenings, in order to check for other cancers

Available at over 2,500 colo-rectal surgeons’ offices, this brochure explains:

  • Everyone over the age of 50 should see a doctor for a regular screening; 45 if you are of African American descent.
  • If you have a family history of colon cancer or are experiencing symptoms, you should be screened regardless of age.
  • Symptoms include weight loss, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, cramps, persistent fatigue, or blood in your stool.

There are several different ways in which you can be screened and it is important to determine which procedure is best for you. For more information, please visit: www.ccalliance.org.

Tips for Hosting an Outlander Viewing Party (series returns 4/4!)

unnamed (1)

This Saturday (April 4), Outlander, the critically-acclaimed Starz Original drama series set and filmed in the Highlands of Scotland, returns to Starz for the second-half of the show’s debut season. On behalf of the Scotland-based Walkers Shortbread, partnering with Starz on specially-marked Outlander packages of shortbread and the chance to win a trip for two to Scotland, we wanted to share the below tips on how to celebrate the return of Outlander! We hope you’ll tune in this Saturday, and celebrate like a Scot!

How to Host an Outlander Viewing Party (or How to Watch like a Scot!):

–       Wear a kilt — who doesn’t love an excuse to wear a kilt… the answer, no one (and we’re giving you the perfect excuse)!

–       Munch on Walkers, of course — The “World’s Finest Shortbread” was invented by the Walker family 116 years ago, and has changed little since. The pure, buttery treat is baked in the Scottish Highlands, where Outlander is filmed.

–       Sip on a Shortbreadtini — Say cheers with your mates, and sip responsibly with this delicious cocktail (recipe below).

–       Learn a Scottish Country Dance – We recommend post-Shortbreadtini.

–       Win a trip for two to Scotland! – From the great capital of Edinburgh to the Orkney Islands and Skye, a lucky winner and their guest will travel through 8,000 years of history and a rich cultural heritage. 25 additional winners will be awarded Starz Outlander Prize Packs!

About Outlander: Outlander series spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one grandiose tale. It follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Outlander returns to Starz April 4 and airs Saturdays at 9pm.
