Spring Cleaning: How enzyme-based cleaners work around the house

Do you have tough stains you need to get out of clothing and other fabrics in the house this Spring? Biz has you covered! It has more stain fighting ingredients than other cleaners. It is the only brand with Enzamix™, a unique blend of enzymes designed to quickly dissolve bacteria causing stains and odors from grass, sweat, blood and more.

I had tough stains to remove from a rug in our house, and Biz really cleaned it! You couldn’t see any remaining stain. What I really like is that it is non-toxic and is made with all-natural ingredients. What makes it different and effective is Enzymes. The Enzymes attack naturally and digest all kinds of biodegradable stains and odors.

Many kids are playing sports now that there aren’t as many restrictions due to the pandemic and grass stains are a big thing but Biz really is great about getting out grass stains!

It is available in liquid or in powder. I actually prefer the liquid but the powder also really works great! It’s just a personal preference of mine to prefer liquid detergent!

You can find the Biz cleaners at stores such as Walmart and Amazon! It is easy to find the liquid Biz at Ralphs.

I also like that it is not expensive either but it works better than more expensive brands I have tried.

4 Ways to Improve Your Dog’s Behavior – Fast!

A dog can be a source of fun and a great addition to the family, but there are times when their behavior leaves a lot to be desired. If your pooch is playing up at the park, barking throughout the night, or simply wants to do their own thing, there’s no doubt you’ll want to put a stop to bad behavior and gain a little more authority. To do so, take a look at these four ways to improve your dog’s behavior fast:

1. Use Positive Reinforcement

When you dog follows a command or behaves in a way you want them to, be sure to give them a reward. With the best dog training treats, you can ensure that food-driven dogs will be eager to repeat good behaviors, in the hope of receiving another reward. Ignoring bad behavior while rewarding good behavior is a tried and tested method of dog training, but it’s one that really works.

2. Give Them More Exercise

The amount of exercise your dog needs will depend on their breed and age, but most healthy adult dogs require at least one hour of exercise every day. If your dog isn’t getting enough exercise, boredom may be a cause of unwanted behaviors, such as chewing or barking.

Letting your dog spend more time in the garden, taking them to the dog park, and playing endless games of fetch are all good ways to burn of your dog’s excess energy, and playing with your dog will allow you to strengthen your bond with them too.

3. Be Consistent

When you’re training your dog, it’s important to be consistent and use the same commands. Similarly, reward good behavior in the same way each time, so that your dog becomes familiar with the routine. Expected different behaviors from your dog at different times will confuse them, so be sure to use commands in varying environments. This will ensure your pooch follows your instructions at home or when you’re out and about.

If you’re sharing the responsibilities of dog ownership with other people, be sure to work together to create a training plan. This will ensure that everyone uses the same commands and has the same expectations, which will deliver maximum results.

4. Keep Your Dog’s Mind Active

Physical activity is essential for your dog’s well-being but keeping their mind active is vital too. Fortunately, training is a great way to encourage your dog to use its brain. When you play training games or teach them a new command, for example, this will keep their mind engaged and help to give them the mental stimulation they need.

The Benefits of a Well-Behaved Dog

When your dog’s behavior is reliable and consistent (and good!), you’ll be a less stressed owner. What’s more – your pooch will be happier and more confident too. Although it can take time to eradicate unwanted behaviors, training your dog ensures that they’ll be easier to manage and much more fun to be around.

Bebe, April 1st Pet of the Week!

Guten tag! Meet Bebe, a 6-year-old German shepherd who actually understands German! She’s pure black and gorgeous. The person who relinquished Bebe to the shelter had heard from her previous owner that she knows many commands in English and in German. Shelter staff and volunteers have indeed seen her in action responding to German commands! She’s been well trained, is housebroken, and has some protection training. She’s also playful—that ball is her favorite thing! She has a few medical issues, but they’re manageable. Bebe would do best as the only pet in the house, as she prefers people to other dogs. If you take her home, she’ll surely say “Danke!” Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through appointment, so call 562-570-PETS or email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Bebe. Ask for ID#A654354

(This rescue encouraged by the usual suspects.)

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers * Comedy, Creative Storyline, Great Messages and Lots of Hockey

After failing to make the cut to join the now powerhouse Mighty Ducks junior hockey team, 12-year-old Evan’s mother encourages him to form a new team of underdogs with help from Gordon Bombay, the Ducks’ original coach. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Katherine S. comments, “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is super enjoyable to watch! This beloved movie franchise now has a new series that all Mighty Ducks fans can enjoy. It has comedy, a creative storyline, great messages and of course plenty of Mighty Ducks hockey action.” See her full review below.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

By Katherine S, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic, age 13

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is super enjoyable to watch! This beloved movie franchise now has a new series that all Mighty Ducks fans can enjoy. It has comedy, a creative storyline, great messages and of course plenty of Mighty Ducks hockey action.

The next installment of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers follows a boy named Evan (Brady Noon) who loves hockey and plays for the Mighty Ducks. However, the Mighty Ducks are not what they used to be, as the team has become a bunch of kids who want to win at all costs. Since the team moved to the 12 to 14-year-old bracket, only the best will stay on the team and, unfortunately, Evan is not one of them. After being devastated from being cut, Evan’s mom (Lauren Graham) decides that they should make their own team, but the deadline is in a few days. Can they find a rink, a coach, players and equipment to play in the league? It’s a lot of fun to watch their journey.

Since this new series is based on the previously released Mighty Ducks movies, you might want to watch some of those movies just to know some of the references and backstories of various characters. The characters include a diverse set of kids, parents and coaches that are very relatable and entertaining. Emilio Estevez reprises his role as a “cranky” Gordon Bombay being coaxed into coaching. Sound a bit familiar? My favorite character is Nick (Maxwell Simkins), because he is sweet, has a love of hockey, is not very good and has the best one-liners.

The message of this show is to remember that, just because you are not the best, does not mean you should not bother to try.  And it would not be a Mighty Ducks movie without demonstrating the importance of teamwork. There is a tiny bit of mild profanity.

I give The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 7 to 18. Adults, hockey fans and Mighty Ducks movie fans will enjoy it, too. The first episode of this show comes out on Disney+ March 26, 2021.
