New Device is Perfect Mother’s Day Gift For Coffee-loving Mom

NitroBrew    NitroBrew2 by Bill Goodman

NitroBrew, an innovative new technology that nitrogenates any beer, coffee or other beverage, is now available at http://nitrobrew.com/shop/ . An ideal Mother’s Day gift, in under a minute, NitroBrew can turn a bottled beer into a sensational nitro-beer, a regular iced coffee into a silky nitro cold brew coffee and even create a creamy root beer float without ice cream (and the added calories).

A fast-growing trend among coffee drinkers, beer connoisseurs and foodies, nitro-style beverages are popular for their smooth mouthfeel, foamy heads and well-rounded flavors. NitroBrew is the first invention designed to bring nitrogenating technology into the home, enabling people to nitrogenate store-bought beverages, as well as create their own nitro-style brews from scratch in their own kitchens.

“The beauty of nitro cold brew coffee is that it gives you a creamy mouthfeel, though you’re not adding any cream or milk to the coffee,” said NitroBrew inventor Murthy Tata. “It’s an excellent alternative for the calorie-conscious coffee drinker.”

Each NitroBrew kit includes a handsome kettle, a discreet charging station and a small air compressor. NitroBrew is easy to use, compact and takes up little storage space. The NitroBrew kettle is dishwasher safe.

Looking for a way to have a useful grip and stand for your tablet or cellphone? Have you heard of PopSockets? I have to admit I hadn’t until I had the opportunity to receive samples to do a review. PopSockets are actually quite handy and super easy to use! You can use one on the back of your phone or you can just use one. I found that I prefer to only use one on my phone. PopSockets is actually a great phone grip! What I love is that it is so much easier to grip my phone and not drop it! Yes, I drop my phone but not anymore. It is also great for taking photos with my phone. They make it so much easier and these are such a fun phone accessory. I received a few to sample, which is a good thing because my husband wanted to try them too! They are also easy to clean and easy to apply and remove. They are also great for when you or a child is bored…you can pop it over and over again. But, my favorite thing is using as a photo grip when taking photos and using as a phone grip.

PBS KIDS Super Vision app available on Apple Watch!

watch_break02

PBS KIDS Super Vision, the number-one children’s educational media brand’s revolutionary app for parents, is now available for Apple Watch. The free app gives parents the “super power” to easily engage with their kids’ digital media time wherever they are – in the kitchen, at work or on the go. With PBS KIDS Super Vision for Apple Watch, parents can limit their children’s screen time on pbskids.org by setting a simple Play Timer on Apple Watch. The fully featuredPBS KIDS Super Vision App for iPhone and iPod touch includes the Play Timer and offers parents a tool to see what their kids are watching, playing and learning on pbskids.org, helping parents make the most of their children’s screen time.

“PBS is committed to innovating across media platforms to have a positive impact on kids and parents,” said Ira Rubenstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager, PBS Digital. “At PBS, we look for learning opportunities in every new technology, and we have consistently been a first mover in the digital space. When we launched PBS KIDS Super Vision last year, we wanted to empower parents with a first-of-its-kind tool to support their children’s learning and give them ideas to help them build on that learning beyond the screen. PBS KIDS Super Vision for Apple Watch extends that capability, making it easier than ever for parents to transition their children from screen time to other activities.”

With the PBS KIDS Super Vision App, parents enter a simple code on their iPhone or iPod touch to start receiving:

  • Real-time information on what their child is playing, watching and learning on pbskids.org;
  • The ability to remotely set a Play Timer from their Apple Watch, iPhone or iPod touch that will put pbskids.org to sleep on their child’s screen, easing the transition from playing online to another activity, such as dinner time or bed time;
  • Related activities from PBS Parents that they can do with their child off-screen to extend the fun and learning goals of the games or videos their child plays on pbskids.org;
  • An Activity Summary to view the top educational skills, shows, videos and games their child used on pbskids.org.

The multiple Webby-award-winning PBS KIDS team designed PBS KIDS Super Vision using open source tools. The app is built on a platform that allows for the seamless, real-time pairing of multi-platform experiences and content on any device with an internet connection. The connection doesn’t require physical proximity, making it easy for parents to see and connect to their child’s screen-time experience anywhere.

PBS KIDS Super Vision is PBS KIDS’ second app designed specifically for parents. PBS Parents Play & Learn, also available for free, offers parents simple activities that they can do with their kids to support math and literacy, themed around specific locations such as the grocery store or the park. PBS KIDS also offers more than 35 apps for kids, designed to help build literacy, math, science and school readiness skills. More information about PBS KIDS’ apps is available on pbskids.org/apps.

PBS KIDS Super Vision is available free from the App Store on Apple Watch, iPhone and iPod touch or at www.AppStore.com/PBSKIDS.

Happy Mother’s Day: Gift Ideas for Nana

Portrait of grandma and granddaughter

Before they were grandmothers, they were mothers. Celebrate Grandma this May by giving her a gift that she’ll cherish and remember for years to come. From decadent gourmet sweets and gift baskets to personalized jewelry and charms, we’ve got the top Mother’s Day picks for special grandmothers.

Make It Personal

It’s the thought that counts, so put a little thought into this Mother’s Day gift for grandma. Give your grandmother a sentimental gift like a framed photo, for example. Round up the family and have a professional photographer take a family portrait of all of the grandkids and children. You could even consider making a sign that reads “We Love You” or “Happy Mother’s Day” prior to the photoshoot to hold up in the pictures. After the photos are printed have the best photo professionally framed, that way she can cherish it and hang it on the wall. This gift can be easily recreated each year, or every couple of years. Grandma will love to see how her family grows over the years.

Be sure to attach a signed card to this gift and make certain that all of the grandkids include a personal note and signature. Big families can add a touch of humor to Mother’s Day by giving grandma an oversized card. GiganticCards.com offers custom cards that can be custom-made to fit any occasion, including Mother’s Day. Surely, all of the grandkids’ special messages will fit on one of gigantic cards.

Give Her Something Sweet

She’s been baking for the entire family for decades from holiday get-togethers to everyday treats, she really knows her way around the kitchen. This Mother’s Day, surprise grandma with something sweet. The online flower delivery service, FTD, not only offers beautiful bouquets, you can choose to send your nana a special gourmet gift basket filled with sweet treats, too. Choose from assortments like a Mrs. Fields cookie box, Godiva chocolates or chocolate dipped strawberries or cake pops.

This gift is great for grandchildren and children who want to show their love and appreciation for their grandmother on Mother’s Day but may find it hard to do so because of the distance between the family. By choosing to have a gift basket delivered, you can rest assured that your Mother’s Day gift basket will be received, even if you live in southern California and your grandma resides in Florida.

Something Sparkly

Give grandma a gift that she can add to her jewelry box. Sweet Blossoms Gift sells a variety of custom jewelry for grandmothers from pendant necklaces to charm bracelets. The Bangle Bracelet for grandmothers is perfect for nanas with lots of grandchildren. Each grandchild can be represented on the bracelet with a circular disc that has his or her named engraved on it. Some styles even include a colored bead that represents the grandchild’s birthstone. The Four Layer Pewter Stacked Heart Necklace is also a good option for grandmas with two or more grandkids. Each layer is hand-stamped with the name of the grandchild and it’s topped off with a small disc with a heart stamp.

Sweet Blossom Gifts even has options for grandmas who go by “nana” and “mimi” so your gift can be even more personalized.
