I actually had the opportunity to try the Grilled Hatch and Pepper Jack Chicken Sandwich and it is delicious! I can’t wait to try the Grilled Hatch and Golden Chicken Salad!  I highly recommend the Sandwich!

The Habit Restaurant, Inc. is continuing its commitment to help end childhood hunger in America by partnering with No Kid Hungry for a third year. This year, The Habit has a goal of raising $400,000, for a three-year grand total of $1,000,000. This equates to 10 million meals to children who face hunger.

One in six kids in the U.S. struggles with hunger. I recently tried the bowl and it is delicious! And, I have to admit that I am not a big fan of halibut but this bowl was absolutely tasty!

Developed by Co-Founder Ralph Rubio and the culinary team, the new entrees feature a delicious blend of flavors with quality ingredients. Rubio’s Wild Alaskan Halibut Two Taco Plate includes sustainable Wild Alaskan Halibut, seasoned in olive oil and garlic, grilled on an authentic Comal, and served on a stone-ground corn tortilla. It is then topped with a new corn salsa made with red bell peppers, lime and agave, as well as creamy Hass avocados, crisp cabbage and Rubio’s chipotle white sauce. The Two Taco plate is also served with a side of “no-fried” pinto beans and tortilla chips. If you live in Long Beach or near Long Beach..you may want to participate in the monthly 30-Minute Beach Cleanup that is put on by Justin Rudd. It is held on the third Saturday of each month. My son and I love to clean Rosie’s Dog Beach but you can also clean the other side where there are no dogs! We just prefer seeing the dogs running around and having a great time at Rosie’s Dog Beach!

My family had the opportunity to visit Pantai Inn for a couple of nights and we had an amazing time! We stayed in a 3 bedroom Suite and it was the best Summer vacation ever! I only wish we could have stayed longer! The view from our place was simply amazing and although I am not usually one to be up at sunrise…I was up at sunrise since the beach was so close by with an amazing view and tons of Sea Lions! I also have to point out that the Staff is the best! They made my family feel at home and I loved that Tea and Coffee are available all day and all the little touches such as chocolate on our pillows at the end of the day…well, I really could go on and on….

The rooms were beautiful and my husband and I loved the whole Bali theme! The Original Balinese art and design really makes this place unique!

I just loved the Kitchen! It truly was fully stocked!

I have to admit spending time on the balcony was a favorite thing for me! I could see and hear the ocean from that spot and I loved having my breakfast there! By the way, breakfast is complimentary there and the food is quite impressive! I loved the Baked Egg Cups and there were two options to choose from! My favorite was the Mediterranean-Sun Dried Tomato with Feta! Yum! The Chef also makes a really delicious Strawberry Cobbler Muffin! But, honestly, the breakfast is something to write home about!

I have to admit that my teenage son wasn’t excited about this trip before we arrived but he had a great time! The room accommodations, the view and the customer service truly made this a great vacation! What really impressed me was how we had all the comforts of home yet we felt like we were so far away from home. It truly was a unique experience without leaving Southern California!

Hands down visiting the Pantai Inn and La Jolla this Summer was the best time my family had together this Summer!

Summer time fun at LEGOLAND!

Looking for a fun place to take the whole family this Summer? LEGOLAND is the place to go! My husband, 13-year-old son and I recently visited there and had a blast! I love that there is so much creativity there and I really enjoy seeing so many things made out of legos! When my son was younger, legos were a big hit and even though he is now a teenager…legos are still a cool thing! Speaking of cool things…the LEGOLAND water parks are where we spent most of our day! My son and husband enjoyed the Build-A-Raft River and this was our first time at the CHIMA WATER PARK. The Lion Temple Wave Pool was a real big hit!

They also have a great deal right now! You can add the Water Park and 2nd day for $5! The only thing is that you have to book +&days in advance. Sounds like a great deal to me!

We also had a visit thru the Sea Life Aquarium and recommend this one for all ages! It actually is one of my favorite Aquariums to visit! They have really cool Jelly Fish!

We didn’t visit the Legoland Hotel on this trip but you may remember that I once featured the fun time we had there four years ago for my son’s birthday. If you are wanting to celebrate a child’s birthday..this really is a fun place to stay!

This summer, yogurt lovers can pack up their picnic baskets and head to Yogurtland to enjoy five new scratch-made flavors that are reminiscent of family outings and warm summer nights.

These new promotional flavors, available from June 5 to August 6, explore the tastes of summer and are inspired by summer experiences, and the fresh fruits and desserts that are associated with them. These new flavors join Yogurtland’s more than 200 other handcrafted, gourmet flavors that are made at Yogurtland’s very own dairy with mastery and care, and with one thing in mind – delighting guests to the last spoonful.

 

“Our fans visit Yogurtland to enjoy and celebrate life’s special moments. The personalized experience lets fans craft their ultimate treat and choose the flavors and toppings they are craving. We are especially excited to introduce Watermelon Sorbet, a flavor our fans have been craving for some time,” said Chad Bailey, senior director of marketing and R&D, Yogurtland.

 

Yogurtland is also introducing two new collectible spoons, one featuring a red watermelon wedge and the other a slice of mud pie. Yogurtland is collaborating with the Watermelon Board to highlight the use of the juice of U.S-grown watermelons in this along-awaited flavor.  I absolutely love the Sweet n’Smooth Peaches and Cream Gelato! It’s delicious!

–       Larger Than Life Mud Pie – Starting July 3, chocolate fanatics rejoice, this ‘larger than life’ flavor layers rich chocolate, tasty coffee, and delectable chocolate cookies. The perfect balance of each layer comes through to create a decadent mud pie taste for all to enjoy.

 

–       Picnic Favorite Apricot Mango Tart- No picnic is complete without juicy summer fruits. The subtle balance between sweet and tart, this flavor combines two fruit favorites, sweet apricots and juicy mangos. This delicious flavor is available starting July 17.

Whole Foods Market is celebrating National Hamburger Day on May 28 with a deal on plant-based burger patties from cult favorite, Beyond Meat. For one day only, customers can get two packages of Beyond Meat’s The Beyond Burger for $9. Each package contains two patties.

Beyond Meat is a plant-based protein source that replaces animal protein with plant protein from peas and other vegetables. The Beyond Burger is the brand’s burger patty and the world’s first plant-based burger that looks, cooks and tastes like fresh ground beef.  Fans love how the beets in the recipe give the burger the texture and appearance of a traditional “bleeding” meat burger when cooked.
