Looking for a place to visit this Summer? San Pedro is the place to take the Family!

It’s Summer and time to go out and have fun with the family! One of my local favorite places to visit is San Pedro.

The coastal town, with a population of almost 81,000, and former WW II home to the U.S Navy fleet will gain a $400 million dollar 21st-century waterfront complete with a hotel. Now is the key time to understand the harbor city’s transitioning charm and what drew writers Charles Bukowski and Louis L’Amour to the area to live.

During the mid-20th century, San Pedro drew more than a million visitors annually. Today, with the Port of Los Angeles, the largest in North America (“America’s Port”) and Worldship Cruise Center, the 12.5-mile area has almost three million teeming its streets. Over the last couple of years, new attractions have paved the way, starting with the U.S.S. Iowa which, in 2012 sailed into the LA from San Francisco, to become a maritime museum.

There are lots of things to do, things to see and they have some of the best restaurants!  You could easily spend the whole day there doing so many different things but here are a few of my favorites!

Have you been to the Pacific Battleship Center? The Battleship IOWA is a must-visit! I love the history of this amazing place and I love that they have an App especially for the kids! The Battleship IOWA Interactive Mobile Tour allows visitors a first-hand experience to live and serve on this historic ship. On my visit, I downloaded the App and found that this will be something great for the younger kids. The Tours is my favorite part of the App but it also has Maps, Augmented Reality which is really cool to check out when you are visiting the Battleship IOWA. There’s even a cute dog mascot named Victory (Vicky) that children can try to spot on the ship. There’s a matching game with a prize at the end of the tour in the gift shop so check it out!

U.S.S. Iowa: In the coming year, will put together a new virtual reality flight experience taking off from the ship and then landing wherever you want to go…maybe Paris? How about London? Singapore? And you don’t even have to leave the ship. Now, how cool does that sound?! https://www.pacificbattleship.com/

About Battleship IOWA

Entering service more than 70 years ago, U.S.S. IOWA deployed to the South Pacific in the uncertain early years of World War II.  The iconic battleship served with distinction in that war, and later during the Korean War.  In the 1990s, U.S.S. IOWA concluded her active duty as the Berlin Wall crumbled.  Battleship IOWA now serves as a historic naval ship museum.  Forged in war, guardian of the peace, the proud ship keeps watch as the proud sentinel of the LA Waterfront. IOWA’s teak decks and steel bulkheads echo the words and deeds of history: three U.S. Presidents, six of the nine American five-star military leaders, countless foreign dignitaries, and most importantly thousands of her own heroic IOWA sailors.  Visitors are awed by IOWA’s proud legacy as one of the fastest and most powerful ships ever to sail the world’s oceans.  Battleship IOWA is open to the public daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our hours are 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with our last ticket sale. Please visit our website additional information on special events, group tours educational programs and Naval retirement flag service.

Another place you just have to visit is the Cabrillo Aquarium, one of Frank Gehry’s early commissioned architectural buildings and a conservation center. http://www.cabrillomarineaquarium.org/

With its spectacular natural setting adjacent to Cabrillo Beach Coastal Park and the Port of Los Angeles, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is uniquely suited to its leadership role in marine science education, aquaculture research and community recreation. The historic Frank Gehry-designed aquarium displays the largest collection of Southern California marine life in the world. Since 1935, CMA has provided visitors with both a natural and interactive approach to learning about the marine environment of Southern California. I love seeing all the sea creatures at this Aquarium! I also love the Tide pools at Cabrillo Beach!

Now, after visiting these truly amazing places you have to check out one of the many fabulous restaurants for lunch or dinner! One of my favorites is San Pedro Fish Market: LA’s Most Instagrammed Restaurant: https://www.sanpedrofish.com/
I was amazed at how big this place is and how clean! There is a sit-down place that I really recommend and the outside eating area is really big!

I love all the seafood choices they offer and I had the best Shrimp enchiladas ever! But, you really have so many choices! You can pick your own choice of fish at the Fish Counter and tell them how you would like it and add toppings or you can sit down and enjoy a meal from their menu which like I mentioned…they have the best shrimp enchiladas! The Salmon plate is pretty good too! If you love seafood, this place is a must-visit!

And, if you have a chance to meet the owner, Tommy Amalfitano, he has quite the sense of humor!
If you have even more time to spend in San Pedro, here are a few other places worth checking out!
The Maritime Museum: www.lamaritimemuseum.org

The Historic Downtown San Pedro First Thursday Artwalk is every first Thursday of the month 6-9 pm and the Farmers Market is every Friday 9 am-2 pm. And, Don’t forget to ride in the Red Trolley and see the Fanfare Fountains! LA Fleet Week is coming to San Pedro Labor Day weekend August 31st-September 3rd, 2018! https://www.lafleetweek.com/

Summer 2018 Must-Haves!

Summer is here! Here are some of the Must-Haves for the season!

Build or Boom from Goliath Games is a must for both boys and girls! I love that this one does not have gender stereotypes and Build or Boom helps reinforce STEM skills such as analytical thinking and shape recognition. In addition, eye-hand coordination and deductive reasoning help build foundational skills. The best thing…is that the kids will really think that they are just having fun!

Find out more about this game and others at https://www.goliathgames.us/ and this game can be found at Walmart!

Are you hoping to prevent summer slide and keep children reading and academically engaged this summer? Read on!

The Nocturnals book series and summer reading kit, by film director and author Tracey Hecht, brings a unique opportunity to engage children and their families off their digital devices.  The Nocturnals  is a critically acclaimed middle grade and early reader series for readers who love animals, adventure, and a hint of mystery.  The books combine these elements with real-life scenarios that are relatable to elementary and middle school children, particularly regarding the topics of bullying, confidence, friendship, self-acceptance, and empathy. These books are delightful and I recommend highly!

About the Nocturnals:

The Nocturnals by Tracey Hecht features three unlikely friends: Dawn, a serious fox, Tobin, a sweet pangolin and Bismark, the loud mouthed, pint-sized sugar glider. The stories all play out in their nighttime world with teamwork, friendship and humor in every adventure. The brand is boy/girl and appropriate for kids ages 5-12 years old.

website featuring animated shorts and fun downloadable activities for parents and their children as well as educator guides for teachers and librarians supports the brand. The first book in the middle grade series, The Mysterious Abductions was chosen by the American Bookselling Association as a Kids’ Indie Next List pick. Fabled Films Press is planning a ten-book middle grade and six-book early reader series as well as a merchandise program for The Nocturnals.

Fabled Films Press, the imprint of Fabled Films, a children’s media and entertainment company, is thrilled to announce Grow & Read, a new early reader program for The Nocturnals. Through this series, which was created under the supervision of reading specialists, children will develop confidence for success in reading while being delighted by traditional storytelling. The books are perfect for shared reading and reading aloud in both the classroom and at home.

In The Moonlight Meeting, the Nocturnal Brigade: Dawn, a serious fox, Tobin, a sweet pangolin and Bismark, the loud mouthed, pint-sized sugar glider introduce their nighttime world to early readers who discover the meaning of friendship and sharing. The book has gorgeous illustrations, which strengthen the understanding of the story while adding whimsy and humor.

Book 2 of the Grow & Read series, The Slithery Shakedown, was released in April, 2018.

The books further engage kids via a free summer reading kit that includes Makerspace and STEM-connected fun activities on NocturnalsWorld.com.  These unique activities include constructing a model crater and volcano, making animal masks, and playing Nocturnals Bingo with fun animal facts. Developed by educators in partnership with Fabled Films Press, the kit helps children learn, sparks their creativity, and makes summer reading more fun – even for reluctant readers.

It’s Summer! Time to head to the beach or the pool! This next product is a must!

These are really cool and the kids will love them! There are 9 fun and attractive styles to choose from and my favorite is the Mermaid one! I wish it was in my size! Our little reviewer just loves it! They have mermaid styles for girls which consist of classic prints and designs. Their classic prints come in 4 styles; pink, aqua, pink and blue chevron, and hot pink and purple stripes, and their designs come in 3 styles; blue seashells, Hawaiian flowers, and stars. For the boys, they offer a gray shark with a chevron pattern, as well as a blue and green dragon. They also come in a stunning retail box which makes them a perfect gift item!

I know that Men could be difficult to shop for but I bet they will love the next ones!

At Sunglass Warehouse there are many choices for sunglasses! My husband received the above two pairs (Anderson and Harlem) and they passed his test! I like that they are quite affordable and he says they are comfortable to wear. Whether it’s a pair for golfing or even a magnified frame to read a book better – their glasses will be a hit!

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel has long been a favorite of Kiehl’s male customers, and they now have two new ways to fuel up with Kiehl’s: introducing NEW Eye Fuel and Body Fuel Deodorant & Antiperspirant!

Eye Fuel ($22.50, available now on Kiehls.com): Kiehl’s instantly cooling under-eye formula provides weightless hydration and refreshing relief for tired-looking eyes. With continued use, the formula with Caffeine and Vitamin B3 helps reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.

This one seems to be working on my husband and he really likes how it absorbs!

Body Fuel Deodorant & Antiperspirant (16, available for pre-order on Kiehls.com): Their first ever, global roll-on antiperspirant deodorant provides 48-hour protection against sweat and odor. The quick-dry formula with Caffeine, Vitamin C and Zinc glides on easily without sticking. This one really is not sticky at all and is a hit with my husband!

Safety is also an important thing during the Summer!

Keep your kids safe while out and about, playing in the neighborhood or at night with the Personal Alarm with Clip and LED Light. Perfect for any age, this alarm clips on to shirts, pants, backpacks or purses to light up a dark night and alert of impending danger. This weatherproof device will alert of dangers up to 600 feet away. The easy-to-use gadget will help keep your kids safe with the 120 dB alarm and LED lights, with three modes for optimal security in all conditions and situations.

I like that these are easy to use and are great for kids!

These and many more SABRE safety products will help everyone stay safe and keep fun at the forefront of the holiday weekend. For a full list of all SABRE’s safety products, please visit their website at https://www.sabrered.com/.

I always find that I have more time to Journal in the summer and I just love these Journals!

Dean Russo, Brooklyn-based artist is currently one of the biggest names in the pop art world. Known for his signature pet portraits, his bold paintings explode with color. He recently kicked off the launch of his new journal series by signing copies of his Dog is Love journal at the NY Stationery Show.

Dean Russo’s journals will be released August 2018 with Quiet Fox.

The story behind Russo’s classic kitties and dynamic dogs is a humbling tale of animal rescue awareness. Russo would visit shelters and ask for photos of adoptable pets to paint. He would then donate proceeds from the paintings back to the shelter. Shortly after this activity, both he and his unique paintings developed an impressive following.

About the Artist:

Brooklyn-based pop artist Dean Russo is a popular animal illustrator with a vibrant graphic style. His work is widely distributed in fi ne art prints, custom commissions, and licensed products. Dean studied graphic design and fi ne arts at Pratt Institute and The School of Visual Arts in NYC. Being an avid animal lover he started his career creating soulful animal portraits in a signature style that has evolved over a period of 10 years. As a professional musician Dean has also been inspired to paint portraits of infl uential music icons.

Here are the perfect toys for the Summer! These are from a brand that I am quite familiar with!

The toys many of us grown ups have played with as a kid – Frisbee®Slip ’N Slide®Boogie® boards and Hacky Sack® – are still available after all these years and can bring back some wonderful memories while introducing a new generation to fun outdoor games.

My favorite then and now is their Boogie Board! I received one to try out and I love it! I especially love how lightweight it is!

There’s also the new ‘square’ Frisbee® called the Frisbee® Sonic. That’s right. Wham-O, the toy company that has been producing some of the most trusted toys in the market for 70 years, has reinvented the way the Frisbee® and all other discs will fly in the future.

Not only is the Sonic a completely unique Frisbee® experience, it actually works better than the traditional Frisbee®. The square-like, sine wave shape mimics many things in nature. The alternating twists and turns of the design resemble a bird in flight as it spins through the air.

The Frisbee® Sonic will also be a hit! It’s easy to grip and I love the new shape!

Find out more here!  You can find most of their products on Amazon.com.

The Habit Burger Celebrates National Burger Month with Fundraiser for Military Programs

America’s favorite food, the always fashionable, ever craveable burger, takes center stage in the month of May as The Habit Burger Grill celebrates National Burger Month and supports veterans. During the month of May, for every Guacamole Crunch Charburger sold, The Habit will donate 25-cents to be split between two important veterans charities, Bob Hope USO and the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

The new Guacamole Crunch Charburger ($4.99) heightens the flavor of the already juicy, award-winning Charburger by topping it with a perfectly crisp tostada shell, fresh, house made guacamole pico de gallo, melted cheese, and a smokey ancho chile lime sauce made in house. The new, south-of-the-border inspired Charburger is served on a toasted sesame seed bun with crisp, shredded lettuce, tomato and pickles. Like all Charburgers at The Habit, the Guacamole Crunch Charburger is always made-to-order and chargrilled over an open flame.

Bob Hope USO works to connect America’s military service members to family, home and country throughout their service with welcome centers at Southern California Airports and dozens of military installations. Each year, Bob Hope USO provides direct service to more than 250,000 members of the military and their families.

Since 2003, WWP has been a tireless advocate for our nation’s finest, improving the lives of over half a million warriors and their families with free programs and services. WWP serves warriors by connecting them with one another and their communities. Programs also focus on mental and physical health and wellness, financial wellness, independence, government relations, and community relations and partnerships.

Better burgers are just the beginning at The Habit where the menu also includes hand-cut salads, grilled sandwiches including line-caught, sushi grade chargrilled tuna, fresh chicken, and hand-filleted marinated grilled tri-tip, and sides including onion rings, sweet potato and French fries, and tempura green beans. Guests can choose from a variety of peppers, lemons, limes, and sauces at a complimentary condiment bar to customize the flavor of their meal.

The Habit is known for its award-winning Charburger which features 100% fresh, never frozen ground beef grilled over an open flame and topped with melted cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, and mayo served on a toasted bun. Their restaurants have been serving the Best Tasting Burger in America exactly this way since the first Habit opened in 1969.

Go WILD FOR THE PLANET at LA Zoo from Earth Day to Endangered Species Day

The Los Angeles Zoo’s annual WILD FOR THE PLANET celebration kicked off on Earth Day weekend, Saturday, April 21st and runs through Endangered Species Day on Friday, May 18, 2018. On weekends, the event features animal feedings, keeper talks and demonstrations; a conservation-themed aerialist show, puppet shows and other activities, fun and information focusing on the importance of protecting the environment and its creatures. In honor of international Year of the Bird, this year’s Wild for the Planet spotlights native plants and other plant species that support local birds and highlights the Zoo’s bird conservation achievements with five bird gardens throughout the grounds. Adults and youngsters can enjoy a day at the Zoo, home to a diverse collection of 1,100 animals representing 250 different species, many of which are rare or endangered, with special opportunities, entertainment, information and tips about everyday ways to sustain and preserve. All activities are free with paid Zoo admission. The full Wild for the Planet schedule is available at www.lazoo.org/wildfortheplanet

My son and I had the opportunity to check out the event on Earth Day weekend and loved it!

Our favorite part of the day was seeing all the amazing animals! But we loved checking out the fun booths for Earth Day too!

Among Wild for the Planet’s weekend activities are special animal feedings/ keeper talks and enrichment demonstrations at 1 and 2 pm featuring okapis and elephants (April 21), snow leopards and trumpeter swans (April 22); red river hogs and rattlesnakes (April 28), gorillas and cassowary (April 29); gorillas and pronghorn (May 5), Chacoan peccaries and Komodo dragons (May 6); bear and zebras (May 12) and tigers and condor (May 13). New this year is a spectacular aerialist show about bird conservation (11 am1 and 3 pm). Children and families can also learn how to make a positive impact on the environment during an interactive puppet show, presented by Swazzle, inspired by the L.A. Zoo’s own conservation efforts (11:30 am12:30 and 2:30 pm). An animal character makes guest appearances between 10 am and 3 pm, and “Meet-and-Greets” with the Zoo’s contact yard animals take place at 12 noon. Nature Journaling stations, open 10 am to noon and 2 to 4 pm, show guests the ins and outs of nature journaling and how to make new discoveries by looking closely at the plants and animals all around us, with focus on zebras (4/21), pronghorn (4/22), gorillas (4/28), orangutans (4/29), elephants (5/5), birds in the Zoo’s aviary (5/6), giant river otters (5/12) and markhor (5/13). Other activities include a “condor wings” photo op, a succulent station to learn about drought-tolerant plants and how to grow them, a bird-strike prevention station and an urban wildlife activity. Guests can find details about participating in the City Nature Challenge, a project organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences involving over 60 cities competing to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage the most people.

On Saturday, May 12, when the Audubon network in the greater Los Angeles area holds “Bird L.A. Day” celebrating the biodiversity of the city’s birds, Wild for the Planet presents an education station introducing guests to birding as an important and tried-and-true form of citizen science. This activity emphasizes the Zoo’s mission to encourage people to care about the natural world around them by connecting them with animals in a personal and direct way.

A Conservation Expo with vendors on the weekends of April 21 and 22, April 28 and 29, May 5 and 6 and May 12 and 13 emphasizes local conservation efforts for the planet and animals. Participant booths include organizations such as City of LA Stormwater Program, LA County Smart Gardening Program, Earthwatch, L.A. Conservation Corps, Catalina Island Conservancy, California Condor Recovery Program , Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles County Public Works, Farm Fresh To You, The Friends of Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area – Ranger Troca, Heal the Bay, National Wildlife Federation, Ventana Wildlife Society, Aquarium of the Pacific, Friends of the L.A. River (River Rover) and Friends of Griffith Park.

Among daily activities during Wild for the Planet are the Zoo’s close-up “Animals & You” encounters as well as special feedings, intriguing talks and guided experiences. Visitors receive a Wild for the Planet “Activity Guide” that includes a map to the bird gardens, bird-themed activities, and other conservation information. Guests can also participate in the L.A. Zoo’s electronic device recycling program by donating an unwanted cell phone, smartphone, iPod, iPad, tablet or MP3 player at the green ECO-CELL bin in the Zoo’s Entry Plaza. Each contribution directly benefits animal conservation programs and reduces the demand for mineral mining that threatens the natural habitats of endangered animals such as the western lowland gorilla.

Wild for the Planet is among many events and activities embodying the L.A. Zoo’s commitment to conservation and sustainability. This spring’s Sustainable Wine+Dinner series features four unforgettable evenings at which the Zoo partners with local, environmentally friendly wineries whose wines serve as the inspiration for custom four-course, farm-to-table dinners set in a different location within the Zoo. Along with spectacular views, guests look at sustainability – from agriculture to food and wine production to wildlife conservation – and enjoy conversations with a curator or keeper, up-close animal encounters, and wine introductions from winery representatives. The Zoo’s annual Beastly Ball showcases the enormous impact the Zoo has on animal conservation both locally and internationally. This year’s signature fundraiser on May 19 takes place on the heels of national Endangered Species Day to underscore the Zoo’s commitment to saving animals from extinction. Animal expert Jack Hanna receives the prestigious Tom Mankiewicz Leadership Award, and the evening features an exclusive concert under the stars with top-name performers and special animal experiences, including animal feedings, keeper chats and up-close interactions. Beastly Ball guests enjoy a rare after-hours stroll through the Zoo while dining on bountiful fare provided by some of L.A.’s most popular restaurants. Also featured is a mobile-bidding silent auction comprised of hundreds of remarkable items and one-of-a-kind opportunities.

Programming is subject to change.

The landmark Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, drawing nearly 1.8 million visitors each year, is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), whose members meet rigorous professional standards for animal welfare, the Zoo has achieved renown as an international leader in the preservation of endangered species and a conservation center for the care and study of wildlife. Its responsibility toward wildlife conservation not only encompasses safeguarding the animals in its care but also actively participating in the preservation of some of the world’s most critically endangered species and their habitats. The Zoo’s many conservation successes include having led the charge in saving California condors from extinction and restoring populations of these critically endangered animals to their native habitats. The Zoo’s lush grounds on 113 acres feature Rainforest of the Americas, an extraordinary collection of endangered and exotic mammals, reptiles, fish and amphibians living in spaces that exemplify their natural habitat in the rainforest biosphere; Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains, home to one of the largest troops of chimpanzees in the United States; Red Ape Rain Forest, where visitors can walk among orangutans; the LAIR (Living Amphibians, Invertebrates, and Reptiles); Elephants of Asia; Campo Gorilla Reserve; and one of the largest flocks of flamingos in any zoo in the world. Among other highlights are an extraordinary, hands-on Hippo Encounter and face-to-face Giraffe Feedings; the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo and Muriel’s Ranch animal contact area; the Tom Mankiewicz Conservation Carousel; a variety of daily opportunities to learn more about animals, including close-up visits, special feedings and intriguing talks; and much more. The private, non-profit Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA), which has supported the Zoo in partnership with the City of Los Angeles for more than five decades and provides funding for and operates seven essential Zoo departments, has 60,000 member households representing more than 240,000 adults and children. As evidence of the Zoo’s popularity, GLAZA attracts one of the largest membership bases of any cultural organization in Los Angeles.

Zoo admission, which includes all Wild for the Planet activities, is $21 for general admission (ages 13 to 61); $18 for seniors (ages 62+), and $16 for children (ages 2 to 12). No ticket is required for children under age two. Admission for Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association members is free.

Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que Hosts Fundraiser Supporting April’s Autism Awareness Month

Family-owned, award-winning barbeque destination, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que has teamed up with three autism organizations to raise awareness and funds during the month of April to support the autism community. The three organizations include Autism Speaks, the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center and the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation.

During the month of April, Lucille’s will donate to these three worthy causes through Round It Up America contributions – in which guests “round up” their purchases to the nearest dollar – at all 23 Lucille’s locations throughout Arizona, California and Nevada.

For donations of $5 or more made during the month of April, Lucille’s will give guests a $10 bonus card good for a return visit between May 1 and June 30, 2018 (one per table, please).

As another way to support these organizations, Lucille’s will be serving up a drink called the “Blue Bayou,” inspired by the color for autism awareness and is made from fresh blueberries & blackberries, 1800 Reposado and Coconut Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and agave nectar. For each Blue Bayou sold in April, Lucille’s will donate an additional $1 towards the cause.

“We first started this fundraiser in our Las Vegas restaurants in 2016 because this condition hits close to home for many at Lucille’s, employees and guests alike” said Brad Hofman, President, Hofman Hospitality Group. “We have since taken the fundraiser across all of our locations. We have seen that the Lucille’s community can make a difference when we come together for a common cause, and we know that this year will only prove the same for these three organizations.”

Lucille’s restaurants are reminiscent of a Southern roadhouse with a distinctive Southern décor that features reclaimed wood outline doors and windows for a rustic yet contemporary look. Lucille’s features blues-inspired art throughout the restaurant and the Flying Pig lounge.  Lucille’s has been participating in Round It Up America, platform that encourages restaurant guests to donate change; over the past ten years, Round It Up America has collectively raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations and programs across the country.

I had the opportunity to visit Lucille’s in Torrance and had a great visit! They have the best food! My favorite is the Southern Fried chicken! It is delicious! The chicken actually seems to melt in your mouth! I am not kidding!

My husband loved his meal too! Doesn’t it look tasty?

The food tastes great and I love how large the portions are! I also love their Sweet Tea, great choice of appetizers and they have the BEST Banana Pudding!

No photo of the Banana Pudding because I ate it too fast! But, you just have to try it!

Lucille’s is open for both lunch and dinner and I highly recommend the service at Lucille’s in Torrance! Our server Harriet was simply awesome!

About Autism

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. We now know that there is not one autism but many subtypes, and each person with autism can have unique strengths and challenges. Most are caused by a combination of genetic and environmental influences, and many are accompanied by medical issues such as GI disorders, seizures and sleep disturbances. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 1 in 68 children is on the autism spectrum.

About Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. We empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. Go to AutismSpeaks.org to learn more, donate or join a fundraising walk.
