Families looking to squeeze in one more summer camping getaway can spend Labor Day Weekend along the shores of Mission Bay. Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort will welcome campers September 4–7, 2026, for a long weekend of waterfront camping, live entertainment, outdoor recreation and family-friendly activities. Campsites are still available at both resorts for the holiday weekend.
Labor Day festivities at Campland on the Bay will include the continuation of Campland Rocks, the resort’s popular summer concert series. West of 5 will bring classic and current rock to the Central Park stage on Friday, September 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and camping chairs to enjoy live music beneath the stars, with food and drinks available nearby from the Campland Cantina.
On Saturday, September 5, families can tee off during a pop-up mini golf experience from noon to 3 p.m. The colorful, interactive activity offers a fun addition to the holiday weekend and a strong visual opportunity for broadcast coverage.
Throughout the weekend, Campland’s activities calendar will feature a rotating lineup of all-ages programming, including arts and crafts, dodgeball, GaGa ball, soccer, yoga and friendly competitions. Guests can also make the most of Campland’s waterfront setting with water sports and bike rentals, heated pools and spas, sports courts, playgrounds, a skate park, a game room and additional resort amenities. To close out the night, campers can head to Central Park for EDM Night.
Just across the Mike Gotch Memorial Bridge, Mission Bay RV Resort offers campers a more relaxed waterfront setting overlooking De Anza Cove. Campers staying at Mission Bay RV Resort receive complimentary access to amenities and activities at nearby sister property Campland on the Bay, allowing families to enjoy Campland’s holiday entertainment and recreation while returning to the quieter atmosphere of Mission Bay RV Resort.
Families don’t need to own an RV to experience a Mission Bay camping getaway. In addition to both resorts’ tent camping options, local RV rental partners can deliver and set up fully equipped RVs directly at reserved campsites. The service makes it easy for first-time campers and families without an RV to experience camping on Mission Bay without the investment or logistics of owning and transporting a recreational vehicle.
Whether spending the morning by the water, joining an afternoon activity, listening to live music beneath the stars, or simply relaxing together at the campsite, the holiday weekend offers families an easy way to enjoy one final summer escape before fall routines take over.
