Meet Gunther, a 6-year-old orange-and-white fellow who was found abandoned in a carrier under a picnic table in a park. Speaking of picnics, Gunther may have enjoyed a few in his time because he weighs 19 pounds. However, to have been left on his own, enclosed in a carrier with no guarantee that anyone would discover him, is a good indication that he wasn’t properly cared for or cared about. But volunteers Susan and Janet think that he’s probably happy to be with people who show him attention and affection now. He’s been at the shelter only a few weeks, and he’s quickly shown himself to be a total angel. He’s quite handsome, but just for the record, he doesn’t like to be called obese—just pleasingly plump!
