Sterling, Feb. 2 Pet of the Week

This sweet pup needs a forever home!

Sterling‘s ears look as if he’s saying, “Oh, no! I just saw my shadow, and it means six more weeks of staying in the shelter and maybe leaving it in not a good way!” Sterling came to Long Beach Animal Care Services as a stray in August and sadly is at risk of euthanasia because of his declining quality of life. This intelligent, playful 2-year-old is struggling with the stress and confinement that comes with shelter life. His soulful eyes fix on you, ready to listen to whatever you say, and hold dreams of the day when he can finally bask in the warmth of a loving home, with lots of walks, squeaky toys, and rubs behind those quirky ears. You can speed the process to help Sterling and any of our other pets see shadows no more by emailing PetAdopt@longbeach.gov or petfoster@longbeach.gov. You can also call (562) 570-4925. Even better, stop by during Long Beach Animal Care Services’ walk-in hours every Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our shelter is located at 7700 E. Spring St. Ask for ID #A704771 to meet Sterling. We’re at capacity, and everyone needs homes!
