National Bathe To Save Tour Hits The Road to Make Sure Every Dog Has Its Day

image004

When 11 year-old Austin Amos found out that 1.2 million dogs are killed in U.S. animal shelters each year, and only one out of every 10 dogs ever finds a permanent home, he was sad and wanted to do something about it. He talked to his dad, Anthony, the founder of HydroDog, a mobile pet grooming company, and the two of them, along with his two sisters and mother, created the Bathe to Save Tour to wash dogs and raise awareness for man’s best friend.

The Bathe to Save Tour is now on the road and traveling the country for the next 18 months and will visit all 50 states, 150+ cities and wash 25,000+ dogs with the goal of raising $1M that will be donated to animal rescue groups and organizations throughout the country.

“We purchased and moved into a 40ft motor coach and will be travelling the country to make a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends,” Anthony Amos, founder of the Bathe to Save Tour, said.  “No dogs or any other animals should be in shelters. We believe they can all be saved.”

Bubbles, the mobile pet grooming unit shaped like a giant blue dog, is being towed by the Amos family’s 40 ft. motor home that’s wrapped in the Bathe to Save logo and other corporate sponsors. Bubbles was adopted out to the Bathe to Save tour by HydroDog Mobile Pet Grooming. Other sponsors of the tour include John Paul Pet, founded by John Paul DeJoria who is the co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products, and Riley’s Organic Dog Treats. Celebrity endorsements include  Harrison Forbes, celebrity pet expert; and Kevin Harrington from the hit television show Shark Tank.

“I’m very proud to be part of this outstanding project that will be washing dogs and holding events to raise money and awareness for animal rescues around the country,” Harrington said. “I encourage everyone to join this awesome Aussie family in saving as many rescue dogs as possible.”

The Bathe to Save Tour will be on the road through the middle of 2017, and all proceeds are donated to animal rescue organizations.

Pi Day is 3.14.16 Fun Things to Do to Celebrate Mathematics on March 14, 2016

unnamed

Happy Pi Day!

Pi Day this year falls on March 14! That’s the day people all over the world irrationally and irreverently celebrate this important mathematical constant. It’s the only number with its own holiday.

Most scholars consider Pi to be the most important and fascinating number in all of mathematics.  Technically, the mathematical constant pi is an irrational, or never ending number, created by dividing the circumference of a circle by its diameter. It is a number that begins with 3.14 but then goes on and on never repeating itself for infinity.

Pi Day (3/14) turns out to be Albert Einstein’s birthday!

Some people make the day special by baking a pie. It doesn’t matter whether it’s an apple pie, a cherry pie or one made with chocolate cream.

Other people, like math and science game wizard Cy Tymony focus on teaching people fun ways to enjoy and learn more about science and mathematics. Cy is the author of the young adult educational book series “Sneaky Uses for Everyday Things”. These books are packed with cool math and science games and projects for kids and teens to play.

This year Cy created www.PiDayFun.com – an educational website dedicated to making Pi Day math memorable with free tips on how kids can have lots of fun using discarded items and without special tools. The site contains 5 Free ‘Pi’ and Math Projects.

There’s a free download for a whole set of Pi Cards, and directions on how to create a Sneaky Pi Detector, and instructions on how to make a Sneaky Pi Quizzer.

I love this book! Math has never been my favorite subject but this book makes it more fun!!

Check it out!

This day in history celebrates the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, 3.14 – but what better way to celebrate an ironic-named holiday than to share in a yummy pie recipe, too!

Yogui Bear Toy for for Aggressive Chewers!

5fc50a630501f6758481a4eac74c0697a433008d

Looking for a cute toy for your dog? The ORANGE BEAR Chew is cute but also great for dogs that chew! This one is actually great for dogs who like to chew and play. It seems quite sturdy and our dog enjoys playing with it!

IMG_1629

With a round center ball that’s easy to throw, this toy is great for playing catch or tug-of-war. Our dog loves to play tug-of-war with it!
Includes soft lamb’s wool exterior, a super-solid core and a tough cotton braided robe. It seems durable and is lasting longer than most of the toys that I buy for our pup! My dog also likes that it makes different sounds such as the crinkly sound that it makes. Although he did tear off the ears rather quickly, he loves it! The rest of it has remained intact and that says a lot since most toys do not last even 10 minutes with our chewing pup!
You can purchase on Amazon.com.
