Trudy, a little 2-year-old tortie, began her time at the shelter by not giving anyone the time of day. Two years on the street without experiencing affection and care from humans can do that to anyone. Trudy came in with a damaged left eye, which she still can’t see out of, and a poor appetite. But thanks to the loving cat volunteers, she’s had lots of love, care and good meals, and she’s now a sleek, purring sweetie-pie who loves petting and chin scritches. Now, all she needs is a forever home, with all the benefits! To adopt or foster Trudy, email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to speed the process, or call (562) 570-7387. Better yet, meet her in person at Long Beach Animal Care Services, 7700 E. Spring St., Long Beach, at entrance to El Dorado Park (no parking fee for shelter visitors). Ask for ID#A699900.
