StoryCub, the producer of children’s Video Picture Books™ for digital, has announced a new premium option to compliment their already popular free “Story of the Day” available via StoryCub.com and the StoryCub app for iOS and Android. StoryCub “Plus” truly makes “Story-Time, Anytime”, and features on-demand, 24/7 streaming of the Top 100 Video Picture Book titles for only $3.99 per month with a 30-day free trial. StoryCub, founded in 2012, bridges the gap between the traditional and digital storytelling experience with it’s unique and innovative Video Picture Book platform for kids 0—8 years-old. Built for today’s families who live in a digital world, StoryCub allows parents a one-stop location where it’s always, Story-Time. Families have responded in droves, as the service has been viewed in over 200 countries and charted Top 5 numerous times in the podcast section of iTunes, beating big name titles from Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Disney. StoryCub ‘s Video Picture Book version of the best-selling children’s title “All About Poop” skyrocketed to #1. As a place that supports early childhood education, each Video Picture Book includes a direct message to parents, encouraging them to read with their kids. The company’s founder Dave Swerdlick notes that “StoryCub brings the excitement of the classroom story-time experience, making it available anywhere your are. In the classroom, when a teacher lets students know that it’s Story-Time, they rush over to get the best spot on the floor. Now, the best spot is right in front you,” via iPad, iPhone, Android, and the Storycub.com website.

What I like best is that  StoryCub is different: it features a real person on-screen reading to YOUR child, mixed with the book’s imagesWithout any advertising messages. I am not a fan of advertising messages for kids. So, if you are looking for something fun for kids ages 0-8, this really is a wonderful app. SoCal City Kids gives it a thumbs up!
