Unlike the vine of the same name, Ivy is not clingy! However, she does indeed love a cuddle. Ivy is a 7-year-old pit bull who was found with a stray friend near a dog park, in November. That’s right—Ivy has been here with us since November. Her friend got adopted, but we don’t want sweet Ivy taking root at the shelter! Ivy is a sweet, easygoing, loving girl who appears to have been a recent mom. Now, she needs to be mothered. Or fathered. Or siblinged. Or all of them. Her puppy days are behind her, and she’s ready for short walks, movie nights on the couch, and lots of love. Come meet Ivy—shelter hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 7700 E. Spring St. at the entrance to El Dorado Park (no parking fee for shelter visitors). You can email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to speed the process for adopting or fostering Ivy. Ask for ID#A666870.
