Christmas is a fantastic holiday, and a favorite time of year for many. A lot of people, especially children, wish that it came around more than once a year. Christmas day will only ever be on December 25th, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience that holiday joy more often. If you celebrate Christmas in July, you and your kids can have winter fun in the summer sun. Here are a few ways to celebrate.

One way to celebrate is to throw a Christmas party in July with family and friends. Summer is the perfect opportunity to party, and adding in a little holiday season joy will only make it more fun. For food, you can have eggnog, iced hot chocolate, hot dogs with cranberry sauce on the side, or peppermint shaved ice. You can also set up a side table for the kids to make their own desserts. They’ll love making smores gingerbread houses, or mini shaved ice snowmen they can decorate with sliced fruit. Both options make for a great treat when they finish making them. There are a ton of fun winter themed games you can play in summer. If you live near the beach or a desert, you can have everyone try sand sledding. Alternatively, you can have a tree decorating competition in your backyard, but use palm trees instead of pine trees. If you don’t have any live trees to decorate, you can also pick up a couple inflatable palm trees to use instead. Everyone will have so much fun at your Christmas party in July!

While you’re celebrating Christmas in July, you may also want to start thinking about Christmas and holiday cards. It may seem a bit early, but if you get your holiday cards ready now, you’ll have one less thing to worry about during the busy holiday season. Plus, with perfect sunny weather, you’ll be able to take amazing outdoor family photos. Or you can use some of the pictures from your summer vacation in your holiday cards. Once you’ve got your photos picked out, you’ll need to find holiday card designs you love. Basic Invite has a ton of options, you’ll definitely find the perfect card. Older kids can also try volunteering at an animal shelter, or working with a local organization to mentor younger children. Decide as a family how many hours in July you want to dedicate to service. If everyone does their part, you can do a small gift exchange as a family to finish out your summery Christmas plans.

It’s time for Spring cleaning and a new favorite of mine is the Arm & Hammer Garbage Disposal Cleaner. It’s so easy to use and you instantly smell a wonderful citrus scent within 15 seconds! I really was amazed at how quickly one of these works! You simply run your garbage disposal with a full stream of water for a minute and then turn off the disposal and run a slow stream of water. After that, you simply drop a capsule into the garbage disposal and turn on the disposal for 15 seconds. As I said, you will instantly smell the citrus scent.

It actually cleans with the power of baking soda and smells wonderful! You can even revive the scent by running the disposal with bursts of hot water. Now, how cool is that?! It is recommended that you use at least twice a week.

Choosing an anniversary gift isn’t always easy, no matter how long you’ve been in a relationship. Many couples choose to stay with the traditional anniversary gifts. However, some of these aren’t very romantic. Here are some ways to remain traditional without losing the romantic gesture. 

Stick to the Theme

It might seem impossible to stick to the traditional themes each year. However, the first year is paper. So you can start this off with a bang. Paper doesn’t have to be money (Actually, money is cloth.) It doesn’t even have to be expensive. For example, create a few special IOUs to give to your partner on your first year anniversary. The IOUs can be sweet, romantic, or a little naughty. You can also mix all three notions to spice things up and create a fun surprise for your partner. Ideas include a card for a candlelight dinner, breakfast in bed, or a sensual massage. 

However, there’s nothing wrong with spending a few extra dollars. Tickets to a band you both love are paper, and dancing to your wedding song live is as romantic as it gets, even if there are a few thousand strangers with you. Another “paper” idea is plane tickets. Go away for a weekend or a week and re-experience your honeymoon. After all, who doesn’t need a vacation for two every year or so?

Look Outside the Box

On the surface, you can see the second anniversary is cotton. At first, you may think this is boring and hard to turn into anything romantic. But if you open it up a little, you’ll see that it covers a wide range of gift ideas. A canvas print is a cotton. Purchase a handcrafted painting of something meaningful to your beloved wife or husband. An ideal option is something with your anniversary number and date to mark the occasion. You can also be silly with your second-anniversary present and order a custom T-shirt with the image of your choice, such as a wedding photo. 

Show How Well You Know Each Other

Show your significant other how well you know them with a personalized gift. The third anniversary is leather. There are many ways this can go. Leather represents security and shelter and building your life together. If your loved one is a horse lover or motorcycle enthusiast, that’s not going to be difficult. A new saddle or a pair of boots will make your horse-loving spouse hit the moon, and a new motorcycle jacket, vest, gloves, or boots are enough to send any husband or wife into bliss. However, not everyone loves riding horses and Harleys. 

Don’t worry. There are plenty of other options. You don’t have to love horses and motorcycles to enjoy a new leather jacket or boots. Additionally, you can skip clothing altogether and check out some high-quality, hand-stitched wallets. Plus, jewelry is still an option with leather. Even in the digital era, with everyone having cellphones and smartwatches, plenty of people love the feel of a watch with a leather band around their wrist.

Order a handmade present that’s both meaningful and unique. If possible, find a way to engrave the anniversary information on the gift. Year four is fruit or flowers. It’s your choice. You can buy chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a bouquet of roses or a basket of fruit and a handful of daisies picked from the field down the road. Consider making this a two-part present. Start with fresh fruit or flowers. 

Next, up your game with something that’ll last a lot longer. For example, a handcrafted miniature glass rose is beautiful and can last a lifetime. Take a step higher and engrave your wedding date on the delicate glass flower. Are you looking for something more hands-on? Try a crafting kit that helps you preserve the flower’s petals and leaves in a frame. Mark the anniversary date and place it on the wall. Next year, add a new wall hanging. 

Get Creative

GINGERBREAD LATTE

Ingredients

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/8 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp molasses – blackstrap or regular

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup milk of choice – almond milk, coconut milk, etc.

Instructions

Mix everything together in a small pot or in a mug. Then heat until desired temperature is reached. (Alternatively, if you want a foamy latte: Mix spices into coffee. In a big measuring cup, heat or microwave the milk until foamy. Then pour the milk into the coffee mixture.)

Ingredients

1/4 cup lowfat milk

1 tablespoon dark chocolate syrup

1 drop peppermint extract

Instructions

Brew some coffee and heat milk in microwave until hot. Mix chocolate syrup and peppermint extract into coffee. Foam milk with milk frother or just pour hot milk into cup. Sit down and enjoy!

It’s time for Spring cleaning and a new favorite of mine is the Arm & Hammer Essential Disinfecting Wipes! I really like that the wipes really clean without harsh chemicals. I even feel safe using them around my pets. They smell great too and they were inspired by nature. They powerfully clean with Citrus-based disinfection which kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. They are available in Renewing Rain and Lemon Orchard. My favorite is the Lemon Orchard fragrance which makes my entire kitchen smell fabulous!

Both are available in either 40 or 80 wipes and can be used almost everywhere! I love using them in the kitchen and bathroom but they can also be used in the car, in the classroom, and even at the gym! Basically, they are safe to use on stainless steel, finished hardwood, tubs and shower walls, and hard nonporous surfaces of car interiors. Just make sure to test a small area first, just to be safe. I tried them out first in my car on a small area and was pleasantly surprised by how well they clean. I also liked how clean my car smells when I use these. I prefer the Renewing Rain fragrance in my car.
