Dana Point Harbor Partners Light up the Holidays Beginning Nov. 16th

Annual Boat Parade of Lights returns on December 9-11 with a “Surfin USA” theme among other holiday happenings throughout the Harbor

Dana Point Harbor Partners (DPHP) is spreading holiday cheer by hosting the annual holiday light display, consisting of over 700,000 LED lights, set to illuminate the Harbor beginning November 16. Themed light exhibits throughout the Harbor include a giant whale sculpture, lighted palm trees, giant beach-ball-like ornaments, and the popular “Merry Kiss Me” arch. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy visits with Santa, pet photos with Santa to support the Pet Project Foundation, waterfront restaurant offerings, boutique holiday shopping and more.

The Harbor’s much anticipated 47th annual Boat Parade of Lights will take place December 9-11 with a “Surfin’ USA” theme. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on December 9 and at 6 p.m. on December 10 and 11. Boaters will decorate their vessels to the theme of the parade, for a chance to win up to $10,000 in cash prizes across several award categories, courtesy of Dana Point Harbor Partners. Award categories include Best Use of Theme, People’s Choice, Supervisor’s Cup, Mayor’s Cup and more. Boaters can sign up at The Marina at Dana Point office. 

Santa’s coming to the Harbor on November 27 and December 10 from 10 am – 1 pm and taking residence in the Clock Courtyard. Visitors can book professional photos with Santa in front of a holiday-themed photo op created by Style My Holiday. The holiday display will remain up throughout the month of December for all to enjoy. 

Visitors are invited to participate in Dana Point Harbor’s “Holidays at the Harbor” social media contest on Instagram from November 17 – December 22. Take a photo in front of one of the many light installations throughout the Harbor, tag @danapoint_harbor on Instagram and use the hashtag #HolidaysattheHarbor. At the end of the campaign, one lucky winner will be chosen at random and awarded a special Dana Point Harbor package.

Additional Holiday Happenings:

DPHP in partnership with the Chabad Jewish Center of Dana Point will place a 12-foot Menorah in the Harbor for the duration of Hanukkah from Sunday, December 18 to Monday, December 26. 

Pet Project Foundation will host the 10th Annual Santa Paws on December 17 & 18 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Clock Courtyard. Pet photos will be offered for a small donation with all proceeds supporting the Pet Project Foundation. 

Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching will also host the annual Boat Rides with Santa on December 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Take photos with Santa and his holiday helpers on this adventure at sea for a $5 donation with proceeds supporting Soroptimist of Capistrano Bay. HOLIDAY LIGHT SPLENDOR comes to COACHELLA VALLEY – Magic of Lights to open at Empire Polo Club from November 18 through January 1st!

This holiday season will be even brighter, merrier and more colorful as Magic of Lights transforms the Empire Polo Club into a vibrant drive-through holiday-themed light display. The festive event kicks off Friday, November 18 and runs through Sunday, January 1.

Produced by Family Entertainment Holdings, LLC, “Magic of Lights” will make its Coachella Valley debut at the sprawling Empire Polo Club, featuring dozens of displays, illuminated canopies, and digital animation, all constructed with millions of individual LED lights to create a memorable holiday experience for the whole family.

·        Each Magic of Lights show uses about 10 miles of steel to build the displays and 10 miles of LED lighting installed inside the displays, there are 10 different colors of LED bulbs used in the shows.

·        Scenes, such as the animated Mattel’s Waving Christmas Barbie, are as high as 32 ft. tall and as long as several hundred feet.

The 14th Annual Los Angeles Printers Fair in Carson

A CELEBRATION OF LETTERPRESS, BOOK ARTS & PAPER

The Los Angeles Printers Fair is the largest annual celebration of letterpress, book arts, and paper in the West. With the backdrop of the Museum’s world-famous collection of antique presses, the LA Printers Fair annually brings together 80 artistic vendors and 2,000 visitors to explore the creative worlds of handmade books and printing. 

Exhibitors include some of the finest letterpress and printmaking artists in the Southwest and beyond, offering custom posters, prints, hand-printed cards, memorabilia, decorative papers, and antiquarian books for sale. Throughout the Museum’s galleries visitors can also print their own keepsakes on antique letterpresses, have their name cast in printer’s type, make paper by hand, or even screen print their own shirt! 

All proceeds from the Fair go to the International Printing Museum, a non-profit institution dedicated to the heritage, preservation, and advancement of the printing arts.

BAJA-INSPIRED LANGOSTINO LOBSTER RETURNS TO RUBIO’S Featuring the New Langostino Lobster Quesadilla

Rubio’s guests can enjoy the seasonal favorite, Langostino Lobster, through January 3.

It’s that time of the year when wild-caught and certified sustainable Langostino Lobster returns to Rubio’s. Guests can enjoy the seasonal favorite from October 12 through January 3. Drizzled in warm garlic herb butter and featuring authentic Baja flavors, this year’s dishes include the Langostino Lobster Two Taco Plate, the Langostino Lobster Bowl, the Puerto Nuevo Burrito and brand-new to the menu this year, the Más Queso Quesadilla. 

“Guests look forward to the return of Langostino Lobster each year,” said Rubio’s Co-Founder, Ralph Rubio. “Our culinary team continuously develops recipes that offer guests new ways to experience seafood, and our tender, delicious Langostino Lobster is always highly requested. Its return coincides with the holiday season, so guests can enjoy these Baja-inspired flavor combinations with fresh, quality ingredients all winter long.”

The four entrées are:

  • Langostino Lobster Two Taco Plate: Responsibly sourced, wild-caught Langostino Lobster drizzled with garlic herb butter, toasted cheese, fresh Hass avocado slice, crisp cabbage, cilantro/onion, and creamy chipotle sauce served on a warm flour tortilla. Served with chips and “no-fried” pinto beans.
     
  • Langostino Lobster Bowl: Responsibly sourced, wild-caught Langostino Lobster atop citrus rice, black beans and romaine, topped with guacamole, salsa fresca and creamy chipotle sauce and a grilled lemon wedge. Served with a side of drawn garlic herb butter and two warm flour tortillas. 
     
  • Puerto Nuevo Burrito: Responsibly sourced, wild-caught Langostino Lobster, Mexican rice, pinto beans, drawn garlic butter, salsa fresca and guacamole, wrapped in warm flour tortilla.
     
  • Más Queso Quesadilla: Responsibly sourced, wild-caught Langostino Lobster and melted three cheese blend in a warm flour tortilla. Served with our handmade guacamole, salsa fresca, drawn garlic herb butter and a side of tortilla chips.
