Anu, Feb. 3rd Pet of the Week

Anu is a 2-year-old mostly German shepherd, with maybe a pinch of husky. She’s a shelter favorite who’s right now licking her chops because she was snacking on falling raindrops. Anu can bring sunshine to a rainy day! Like most of our shelter pets, Anu hasn’t been blessed with good luck. She was abandoned when her family moved—left on the property until she managed to escape (likely, that husky element!). She was found as a stray and brought to the shelter, where the volunteers got her decompressed and over her initial shyness. As one volunteer said, she’s already been through a lot in her young life with people that didn’t deserve her. She’s been at the shelter too long. Anu will flourish with a patient, large-breed-savvy human. You can speed the process to adopt or foster Anu and any of our other pets by emailing PetAdopt@longbeach.gov or petfoster@longbeach.gov. You can also call (562) 570-4925. Even better, stop by during our walk-in hours every Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Our shelter is located at 7700 E. Spring St. Ask for ID#A674004 to meet Anu. We’re at capacity, and everyone needs homes!
