Mabel, July 24 Pet of the Week

AWWWWWWW!

We don’t know what’s so funny, but Mabel seems tickled pink about something. Maybe it’s that squirrel who nearly ran backward up a tree when he saw her on a walk. Mabel just looked at him and shrugged. Mabel’s interested in other animals, but she’s more interested in just walking—she’s great on a leash. She likes humans, too, but she needs time to get to know them. She’s developed quite a few solid friendships with some of the shelter volunteers! Mabel would do well in a home with adults who like to walk with an appreciative buddy and then veg out together on the sofa. She’s only 2 years old, which gives her lots of time to be pals! Long Beach Animal Care Services is over capacity with dogs, so speed the process to adopt or foster Mabel or any of our other pets by emailing PetAdopt@longbeach.gov or petfoster@longbeach.gov. You can also call (562) 570-4925. Our shelter hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 7700 E. Spring St. at the entrance to El Dorado Park (no parking fee for shelter visitors). Ask for ID#A757625.
