unnamed

TEDxUCIrvine is pleased to bring TEDx Talks to University of California, Irvine’s Festival of Discovery, commemorating its 50th anniversary. The festival, held in the campus’s Aldrich Park on Saturday, Oct. 3, will feature discovery pavilions centered around Health + Wellness, Ingenuity + Innovation, Local + Global Impact, and Arts + Culture. The TEDx Talks will bring the discovery pavilion themes to life in four explorative sessions covering the mind, body, heart and soul. The talks are scheduled throughout the day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

TEDxUCIrvine, an independently organized TED event, is a non-profit student-run organization at UCI, fueled by the spirit of the parent organization TED with the motto of “ideas worth spreading.” The TEDx Talks within Festival of Discovery will offer an opportunity for event-goers to experience interactive and thought-provoking talks with 12 speakers from different schools at UCI. Each unique session willexplore the ideas that are shaping the future of the local and global communities.

The Festival of Discovery will kick off with the Anteater 5k and Family Fun Run/Walk at 7 a.m.  Participants will “run through the decades” with music and themed décor of the 60s through today. The course will finish at the Festival of Discovery event site.

Festival of Discovery and TEDxUCIrvine are free events. Online registration for the TEDx Talks is recommended to reserve a seat. Registration for the Anteater 5k and Family Fun Run/Walk is also available online. For more information visit http://festivalofdiscovery.uci.edu.
