This is a wonderful book for young kids about overcoming fears and asking others for help!
“Honeydew & Marylu” is written by Wallace and illustrated by Ward, the animation producer of MTV’s “Station Zero” and “Word World,” PBS Kids’ pilot. The children’s book is about overcoming fears and asking for help. A big race sets the premise for the story. Honeydew thinks she is a big girl, but she has not yet learned to tie her shoes. Eventually, the girl asks for help. The book includes a glossary, a rarity for children’s books, and step-by-step instructions to tie shoe laces. The author and illustrator are the co-founders of Kids Entertainment (KE), a fresh and innovative new brand in children’s entertainment. With the mission to build characters that build character, the company is creating games, software, animation, and books with life lessons for “kids” in a light-hearted and entertaining way. Their motto is “Laugh. Learn. Play. Every single day.”
“Honeydew & Marylu” are the first of many characters to be introduced. Over the past few years since Wallace’s retirement, the entertainment company has been developing an array of children’s programming ranging from software applications about grammar to books with superhero puppies and sheep.
