Bug Fair, which began 33 years ago at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) as a humble tribute to the crawly creatures that surround us, has become the biggest bug festival on the West Coast. This two-day festival—and NHM’s most popular weekend—features a variety of programming for all ages celebrating our winged, multi-legged, squirmy, and sometimes bug-eyed friends.

This year, Bug Fair is hosting variety of exhibitors. See everything from exotic insect collections to pet tarantulas, from millipedes to centipedes, from bug-related products, like honey and silk, to bug-inspired artwork and jewelry. Visit the main stage to watch bug chefs hip up protein-filled snacks, and explore the Museum’s 3.5-acre Nature Gardens for the chance to go on bug hunts, get crafty, and experience up-close encounters with crawly creatures.

Other highlights include:

  • One-on-one time with NHM scientists
  • Performances by NHM performing artists
  • A chance to visit NHM’s seasonal Butterly Pavilion (additonal ticket necessary)
