I can not believe that it is almost Memorial Day weekend! This school year has really gone by so quickly! I love SweetWorks Gumballs, Sixlets and all their other candy and love that they have Red, White and Blue choices for this upcoming holiday. They would be great for the upcoming 4th of July too! My favorite are the Sweet Shapes which are Red, White and Blue Stars and are great for decorating cookies and cupcakes! Yum! My dog loved these so much that they did not last long in my house! Actually, I was planning on getting a video of my dog chewing these and kept putting it off until it was too late! I left for an outing with my son, and my husband had given our puppy the last one. Best For My Pets Tripe Stick chews kept my dog entertained and he is definitely at the chewing stage. But, what I also like is they helped clean his teeth and they are 100% All Natural Pure Beef. My puppy really loved these so looks like I will have to be ordering more. According to United We Serve, a nationwide service initiative that helps meet growing social needs resulting from the economic downturn, 80% of preschool and after-school programs serving low-income populations have no age-appropriate books for their children. A recent study shows that while in middle-income neighborhoods the ratio of age-appropriate books per child is 13 to 1, in low-income neighborhoods the ratio is 1 for every 300 children.
A great way to improve the reading achievement of low-income children is to increase their access to print. Communities ranking high in achievement tests have several factors in common: an abundance of books in public libraries, easy access to books in the community at large and a large number of textbooks per student.
Anyone can get together to help increase reading achievement and literacy by organizing a book drive. It’s almost Mother’s Day and my favorite gifts have been the personalized photo gifts that I have received in the past 11 years. I can’t believe that I have been a Mom for 11 years now! But, that is a different story. My favorites have been from Shutterfly. They have the best photo gifts! The Postage stamps are so cool! I think it is just amazing that you can have stamps with a personalized photo on them. I like that they are great quality, there is a variety to choose from and it is always tough to just choose one. This time it was simple for me because I loved the dog design. My son actually chose the photos for this one and I honestly haven’t looked. My 11-year-old son did check it out when it arrived here and says it is perfect! My favorite this Mother’s Day is the Serving Tray! Just perfect for breakfast in bed. It is waterproof, multi-functional and there is a variety of designs and of course, you can can customize with your photos.
