What’s Halloween without witches, ghosts, skeletons, black cats and bats? Our shelter at Long Beach Animal Care Services can help with the last two! Meet Bat, 9 months old! He was brought into the shelter because he was hanging around—not upside down, though—as a stray. They found out that he won’t use his fangs to bite even though he chitters and chatters like his namesake species. If you make an appointment to see him, we’re sure you’ll cave! Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through email, so contact PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Bat. Ask for ID#A650104.

Everyone loves Mrs. Dash, and Mrs. Dash loves everyone! The lady’s an adorable 3-year-old German shepherd mix who loves to be outside and—well, dash around and play. We have no idea where Mr. Dash went, but it doesn’t matter. We know that our pretty girl is going to make a much better match—could it be you? Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through appointment, so call 562-570-PETS or email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Amy. Ask for ID#A648608/

It’s autumn, the best time to pick an Apple! This wonderful little puppylike pittie is just a year old, and he’s a keeper with his big floppy ears and heart as golden as his fall coat. He’s looking for a companion to join him in a run, some games and a jump into a big pile of raked leaves, if only such a thing existed in Long Beach. Come quickly to adopt this fellow—Apples like him don’t just grow on trees! Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through appointment, so call 562-570-PETS or email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Amy. Ask for ID#A649036

Just who doesn’t love a cupcake? The good thing about this Cupcake is that she won’t wreck your diet! She’s a 2-year-old spayed furball who’s somewhat shy at first but then warms up nicely. Adopt her, and be the icing on her cake! Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through email, so contact PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Cupcake. Ask for ID#A649094.

Once in love with Amy … this 2-year-old husky/shepherd mix was found by a Good Samaritan who was struck by how sweet and quiet she was. The shelter staff and volunteers think so, too, and they love taking her for walks—no leash problems at all. She’ll make a good companion, and likely, Amy will stay in love with you! Because the shelter is closed to the public, adoption appointments are conducted through appointment, so call 562-570-PETS or email PetAdopt@longbeach.gov to meet Amy. Ask for ID# A648841.
