Loving on Me is a global women’s empowerment movement that challenges women to define and fall in love with the person they really are. On Feb. 13, International Loving on Me Day, they are challenging women to post loving statements on social media, starting with “I am” followed by the word or phrase that best describes them. The goal is to count one million of these photos on social media, to raise awareness for the cause and encourage women that loving themselves is the first step toward loving others.  Now, how cool is that?!

Feb. 13 is Loving on Me Day and to celebrate Loving on Me Day founder Katrina McGhee is challenging women around the world to post a picture of themselves on social media starting with the affirming statement “I am” followed by the word or phrase that best describes them. Why? Because in order to love yourself you gotta declare it, share it and live it! Just download your I am card here, take a fun photo and post your photo on your social media — we’re hoping to count one million photo declarations of love by February 13! Don’t forget to be counted by using #lovingonme

Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is seeking volunteers to help sustain, preserve and share the precious historic and cultural landmark. The property, home to a 171 year-old two story Monterey-style adobe, is maintained by the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation, a not-for-profit entity that relies significantly upon volunteers to connect the site with the community, and with visitors from around the world.

Rancho Los Cerritos is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join their team of House Docents, who provide guided tours of the adobe home and help visitors to understand how it was used during the various phases of its existence. Docents also speak about the lives of the people who lived on the site, its antique furnishings, and how they were used.

“Rancho Los Cerritos delights visitors from far and near because of the dedication of our volunteer docents, who share the site’s history in fun and informative ways,” adds the site’s education director, Meighan Maguire.

House Docent training begins on Wednesday, February 4th, and continues on Wednesday afternoons through March 25th. Classes run from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Individuals interested in volunteering should RSVP to 562-206-2040, or email the Rancho’s volunteer coordinator, Jan Shafer, at JanS@rancholoscerritos.org.
