Looking for a fun way to keep your child wanting to read over the holidays? FarFaria  is the answer! FarFaria is an app for the iPad, iPhone and Android devices, giving families and teachers unlimited access to over 800 illustrated children’s books, and 5 new books are added each week.

Created for children ages 2-9, FarFaria helps children develop a passion for reading and encourages families to spend quality time reading together. FarFaria’s engaging story-discovery experience encourages children to stumble into new stories they’ll love forever.

I received an opportunity to test this app out and I like that there are so many different stories to choose from! Children ages 2-9 will love this! I tried it out on an iPad but this would also be great for the phone when you are traveling through the holidays. My son is a little older but he agreed that this is a cool app for younger kids. I really like that there is a book search and there is even a Book Club so kids can connect with each other. I haven’t actually seen that on any other apps that I have checked out.  One story per day is free, and unlimited-access pricing starts at $4.99/month.

For more information, check out the website.

We have teamed up for a Holiday Giveaway! One winner will win an unlimited access membership to FarFaria (membership is good for 3 months) but you have to enter fast! Leave a comment below telling us one of your child’s favorite Books! Deadline to enter is November 20th 2014 at 8 am PST. One winner will randomly be selected via Random.org.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Eggs Without the Warning

unnamed

Eggs are the arguably the perfect breakfast food – healthy fats, vitamins minerals, protein…but did you know that all eggs have warning labels – except Davidson’s Safest Choice Eggs? An FDA warning on all other egg cartons insists that you “cook eggs until yolks are firm” to prevent illness from bacteria, but this warning is noticeably absent from Davidson’s Safest Choice eggs, offering you peace of mind however you prefer to prepare your eggs.

I received free coupons to purchase and they are delicious! A dozen did not last long in our house!

Nearly 4 out of 5 Salmonella-related foodborne illness cases share a common vehicle: raw or undercooked eggs. But Davidson’s Safest Choice eggs have been pasteurized in a warm water bath to eliminate the risk of salmonella. That’s it – just time + temperature + water. This means ANYONE can eat eggs any way they’d like– sunny side up with runny yolks, raw in a morning smoothie…and you (and your kids) can even safely indulge in cookie dough – without any risks when you’re baking.

I have to admit I am pretty excited about being able to safely eat chocolate chip cookie dough!

We have teamed up for a Holiday Giveaway! One winner will win two free coupons to purchase these delicious eggs! To enter, leave a message below telling us what holiday dish you would like to make that includes eggs! Deadline to enter is November 24th, 2014 at noon PST. One winner will randomly be selected via Random.org.

Self Disclosure: I received free coupons to purchase this product. Any opinions expressed are my own.

General Mills has been consistently surprising American families with free prizes in cereal boxes for more than 80 years. But for the first time ever General Mills if offering free customizable premiums for both boys and girls through a partnership with Mega Bloks.

Each participating brand of General Mills cereals including, Honey Nut Cheerios, Reese’s Puffs, Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, offers a free Mega Bloks car with a set of Hello Kitty and Power Rangers stickers and instructions to cut out a pattern to construct a cardboard jump from the cereal box. In addition to the Mega Bloks freebies promoting fine motor skills and construction play patterns for children, the offer leverages hot properties adults love too, like Hello Kitty and Power Rangers. In fact, Hello Kitty is celebrating her 40th anniversary later this month, and Power Rangers is an iconic brand that’s experiencing great growth at retail.

We received samples of Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a Mega Bloks set. My son is already a fan of the cereals and I love how the Cars can be designed with Hello Kitty or Power Rangers! The cars are for boys and girls and I just love that!

To bring the family fun to live, General Mills partnered with Maker Dad – Mark Frauenfelder – to rev up the breakfast table with a Rube Goldberg style contraption seen in this video made entirely of General Mills Mega Bloks cereal boxes.
