It’s back-to-school time so wouldn’t it be cool to turn a wall into a writing or drawing surface for your kids? Now, you can with the 6 ft Blackboard Decal sold at ichameleons. We received one to try out and we love how it sticks easily and can also be removed easily without leaving any residue. Great for using with school, lists and my son is having fun drawing on his wall in his room. Includes 2 white, 1 pink, 1 blue & 1 yellow chalk. You can also cut into different shapes and sizes. Size is 45×200 cm (1.5 ft x 6.5 ft)This really is a must-have for the school year!

TITANIC THE EXPERIENCE

Titanic The Experience is Now Open! Take an adventure back in time…

The story of the sinking is legendary; now experience the wonder and tragedy of this ill-fated Ship on a journey through Titanic history at Titanic The Experience. My son loves reading and learning about the Titanic so we were quite excited to be able to go check out this amazing tour! It really is an experience and a lesson in history. It is really like you travel back in time to 101 years ago! There are full-scale room re-creations and you can view over 250 artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Titanic. I have to say the best thing about the tour are the Actors (Interactive storytellers), who are dressed in time period clothing and are portraying notable passengers and crew members. They really made us feel like we were really back in time! When we asked questions, they didn’t even hesitate to answer because they were all so knowledgeable about the day Titanic sank. I felt like you really do experience the unforgettable sights, and sounds of that tragic night. It was cool seeing an iceberg and also sitting in a mock life boat. Another fun thing is that you get a copy of an actual boarding pass with a real person’s info and at the very end you can look on a wall and see if the person was a survivor..or not. This experience is very family friendly and you don’t want to miss it! Titanic The Experience is located at 7711 Beach Blvd., Buena Park. For more information, check out the website.

It didn’t give me curls that I don’t have but it did work with the natural waves I do have but don’t always see. It also helps with frizz control! The Waves Texturing Conditioner helps detangle and moisturize and I love how it leaves my hair soft. Both are affordable at $2.50 each.

Soak City! The place to beat the heat!

Last fall my family purchased annual passes to Knott’s Berry Farm. The passes we bought for myself and our kids include admission to Soak City which is the water park across the street from Knott’s. I have three children ranging from age 2 to 7 so I was worried about going alone with the kids.  Recently a friend invited us to join her and a group of her friends.  Since that trip we have returned two times.

I am impressed with how family friendly the Park is. For example the wave pool is well staffed with lifeguards some in the water some out and others carrying life vests which they require children under 46″ to wear.  In addition the water is not scary deep and the waves are not over whelming even for my kids who are good swimmers but have never been in the waves at the beach.  Sunset River also known as The Lazy River is so relaxing and great for all ages.  They have a nice toddler area and a beach house which is a large structure with slides, sprayers and large buckets that intermittently dump water on the crowd below.

I suggest you bring an umbrella they allow umbrellas under 7ft. Shade is limited and seating under the shaded areas gets claimed quickly. Take your sunscreen and wear protective clothing.  They allow you to bring in water but not food.  However they have several options for purchasing food and a nice grassy area just outside the entrance where you can eat a picnic.  They have nice clean bathrooms with showers and changing areas near the entrance. Each time we went on a week day so the crowds were fairly light.   I imagine on the weekends and at the height of the summer it gets pretty crowded.  Also Soak City is only open from May to mid September. From now until the end of October Knott’s is offering special pricing on all annual passes. You can find information on their website. I know we will be renewing or passes.

Brew Over Ice Coffee and Tea is a Mom Must-Have this Summer!

Even though we are back-to-school, the weather is more like summer than the entire month of June! Besides, heading to the beach after school or going to the tide pools for PE, I beat the heat with my Keurig Brewer and Brew Over Ice Coffee and Ice Tea. I received the Celestial Seasonings Southern Sweet Perfect Iced Tea and the Donut Shop Sweet & Creamy Iced Coffee and they are both a hit in my house! My husband loves the Iced Coffee and I love the Southern Sweet Tea! The sweet tea is just perfect! Not too sweet but just right! Hey! I think I will make one now….
