“The Feld Entertainment mission of providing quality live entertainment experiences that the entire family enjoys starts with Disney Live! because it is often a young fan’s first theatrical experience,” said producer Alana Feld. “Children everywhere are falling in love with Sofia and Jake, and we are thrilled to bring these popular Disney Junior characters to the stage for the first time ever.”

In this original storyline, Mickey and Minnie lead the audience on an exciting adventure that will have families rooting for their favorite pirate Jake and Disney’s first little girl princess Sofia. Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate and Princess Adventure begins with a special interactive pre-show featuring the loveable 6-year-old doctor to toys and stuffed animals, Doc McStuffins.

Children and their parents will sing “The Check-Up Song” along with Doc as she provides tender love
and care.

First Penguin Chicks To Go On Exhibit In The June Keyes Penguin Habitat On Tuesday, September 10

both chicks

Two Magellanic Penguin chicks made their way into the world, hatching at the Aquarium of the Pacific in late June. The public can see the penguin chicks at the June Keyes Penguin Habitat when the Aquarium opens at 9:00 a.m.that morning.

The two baby birds were being cared for behind the scenes, where they could be seen via the Aquarium’s live penguin chick webcam. The Aquarium of the Pacific also has webcams in the June Keyes Penguin Habitat. People around the world can tune in to catch a glimpse of the chicks exploring the habitat for the first time and meeting up with their parents Roxy and Floyd. Cameras have been placed above and below the water, giving viewers an up-close and candid look at the lives of the Aquarium’s Magellanic Penguins. The webcams have been provided courtesy of explore.org, the philanthropic multimedia arm of the Annenberg Foundation.

Native to Argentina and Chile in South America, this penguin species prefers a more temperate climate such as that of Southern California than their Antarctic-dwelling cousins. Magellanic Penguin chicks hatch with their eyes closed and are able to open them about a week later. After about 90 days the chicks fledge, losing their downy newborn feathers, which are replaced with water-tight, sub-adult feathers.

The public can help name one of the penguin chicks during a live auction at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s tenth annual Sea Fare fundraiser on Saturday, October 19, 2013, which benefits the Aquarium’s education, conservation, and animal care programs. Tickets to this event are $125 per person and include gourmet food and beverages, an open bar, and more. For information and to purchase tickets, the public can visit www.aquariumofpacific.org/seafare or call (562) 437-FISH.

PUBLIC:         Starting September 10, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., the public can see the new Magellanic Penguin chicks in the June Keyes Penguin Habitat and during daily meet-and-greets at the Molina Animal Care Center. The first two people who check in each day on Four Square when they are at the Aquarium can go behind the scenes at the penguin exhibit. The Aquarium is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Aquarium admission is $25.95 for adults 12+, $22.95 for seniors 62+, $14.95 per child (ages 3-11), and free to Aquarium members and children under age three. The penguin chicks can also be seen via the Aquarium’s live web cams. For more information, visit www.aquariumofpacific.org or call (562) 590-3100.

Special FYI: Fall weekdays are the perfect time to visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. Summer crowds are gone and school fieldtrip season is not yet in full swing. The Aquarium of the Pacific has offered our readers this special discount available Monday through Friday through October 31…Buy an adult ticket and receive a child ticket free.

TITANIC THE EXPERIENCE

Titanic The Experience is Now Open! Take an adventure back in time…

The story of the sinking is legendary; now experience the wonder and tragedy of this ill-fated Ship on a journey through Titanic history at Titanic The Experience. My son loves reading and learning about the Titanic so we were quite excited to be able to go check out this amazing tour! It really is an experience and a lesson in history. It is really like you travel back in time to 101 years ago! There are full-scale room re-creations and you can view over 250 artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Titanic. I have to say the best thing about the tour are the Actors (Interactive storytellers), who are dressed in time period clothing and are portraying notable passengers and crew members. They really made us feel like we were really back in time! When we asked questions, they didn’t even hesitate to answer because they were all so knowledgeable about the day Titanic sank. I felt like you really do experience the unforgettable sights, and sounds of that tragic night. It was cool seeing an iceberg and also sitting in a mock life boat. Another fun thing is that you get a copy of an actual boarding pass with a real person’s info and at the very end you can look on a wall and see if the person was a survivor..or not. This experience is very family friendly and you don’t want to miss it! Titanic The Experience is located at 7711 Beach Blvd., Buena Park. For more information, check out the website.

Kindergarten_PicsnProps

The beginning of each school year is a reminder of how quickly time flies. It’s an opportunity to make memories that will last far beyond the classroom years.  And, whether it’s kindergarten or senior year, sometimes a simple “You can do it!” helps remind kids that you’re rooting for them, no matter what.

Because the start of a school year can be a whirlwind for everyone, Hallmark wants to help you pause and capture those special moments and celebrate kids as they head back to class with new gift and greetings designed to create lasting memories and share an extra boost of encouragement throughout the school year.

We received the “Making Memories & Encouraging Kids” gift pack to feature this month for Back-to-School and this really is a must-have for the school year!  It includes the following awesome products:

o   SO SO Happy™ Greetings: Hallmark’s new line of SO SO Happy greetings help moms connect with their kids in a way they understand and appreciate. From Taco to Tribe, a variety of adorable characters inspire and celebrate positivity, acceptance and love — attributes especially important during the school year. VIDAL SASSOON PRO SERIES

Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Creme Pomade Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Foam Mousse Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Hair Primer Spray

Fifty years after Vidal Sassoon transformed how women wear and care for their hair, P&G Beauty & Grooming is making salon genius available to all with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series color, care and styling line. Perfected by experts, the collections offer quality products for creating effortlessly beautiful, real life styles at home.

The Waves Collection is the newest addition to the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series line, and features effective
technology to create fashionable waves and perfectly defined curls. This new collection not only helps enhance natural waves and curls, but also leaves hair shiny and touchable for long-lasting frizz control.

I received this fabulous line up and I love how well it works and how affordable it it! The Waves Texturing Shampoo really helps enhance natural waves and curls and left my hair shiny and soft! It didn’t give me curls that I don’t have but it did work with the natural waves I do have but don’t always see. It also helps with frizz control! The Waves Texturing Conditioner helps detangle and moisturize and I love how it leaves my hair soft. Both are affordable at $2.50 each.

Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Hairspray  Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Texturizing Conditioner Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Texturizing Gelee

The line up also includes: Waves Hair Primer Spray, Waves Creme Promade, Waves Foam Mousse, Waves Texturing Gelee and Waves Hairspray.  They all work so well but my favorite is the Waves Hair Primer Spray. This provides a light conditioning hold and lightly coats the hair’s surface. It really preps hair for desired styling and can even be used alone to achieve tousled looking waves. All products retail between $2.50-3.99.

For more information, check out the Vidal Sassoon website!
