The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) is thrilled to announce the return of its spectacular holiday series, L.A. Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow Presented by The Angela Collier Foundation, with special nights and VIP-style offerings that promise to enchant visitors of all ages. The immersive experience, set against a dazzling landscape of lantern sculptures and nature-themed wonders, will illuminate the Zoo from November 15, 2024, through January 5, 2025.
Guests will stroll through varying landscapes of the alpine forest, rainforest, and river, where they will be captivated by sculptural lights displaying a variety of animals, including sea life and pollinators. New this year are two festive holiday sections featuring immersive lights and displays, photos with Santa (for an additional fee), spectacular holiday photo spots, and other cheery fun, offering a truly beautiful and memorable way to celebrate the season. Sensory-Inclusive Zoo Lights
On Dec. 3, L.A. Zoo Lights will host a special evening for guests who thrive in a sensory-supportive environment and their families. This unique experience features limited crowds, quieter music, and additional sensory accommodations to ensure enjoyment for all guests. Sensory bags (available on a first-come-first-served basis), Santa photos without flash, and reentry options are part of this one-night-only event.
Pride Night
On Dec. 11, the Zoo will host Pride Night, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, families, and allies. Enjoy the vibrant L.A. Zoo Lights with added festivities, including an all-ages dance party and a full cocktail bar for adults 21-and-over. A restroom policy supports guests in using their chosen facilities.
Holiday Happy Hours – “Ugly Holiday Sweater” Theme
Guests are encouraged to don their most festive holiday sweater for exclusive Holiday Happy Hours on Thursdays, Dec.5 and Dec. 19. Adults 21+ can enjoy express entry to L.A. Zoo Lights and access to a private lounge from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The evening includes a special menu, beer, wine, a signature cocktail, and an awkward family photo op. Tickets are $75 and available online only. Don’t forget to wear your ugliest holiday sweater!
Family New Year’s Eve Celebration
Ring in the New Year with the whole family on Dec. 31. This all-ages event includes express entry to L.A. Zoo Lights, a buffet dinner with dessert, dancing, and a live broadcast of the Times Square ball drop. Celebrate with a New Year toast featuring sparkling wine or apple cider at 9 p.m. Pacific Time. Tickets are $95 for adults (18+) and $79 for children (2–17), available online only.
Holiday Pajama Weekend
For the first time, L.A. Zoo Lights hosts a Holiday Pajama Weekend from Dec. 6–8. Guests of all ages are encouraged to wear their coziest holiday pajamas and enjoy the festive lights and activities. This special weekend is perfect for families looking to create magical holiday memories along with amazing holiday photos. Guests should be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Shoes are required.
