This is yet another great book in the series “If You Were Me and Lived in…” by Carole P. Roman. This is completely geared towards younger children ages 3+ but I even found interesting facts that I didn’t know about Scotland! I really like that these facts are presented in such simple sentences yet one can really learn a lot from reading this book. It is geared towards both boys and girls and love how it gives the pronunciation for certain words. This is often lacking in many books. Children can learn everything from learning that Mommy is called Mathair to the official animal of Scotland being the Unicorn. Yes, Unicorns don’t really exist but I loved the reason why they chose the Unicorn. “They picked the legendary beast because it represented grace, purity,healing, and happiness.” This is one of my favorites so far in the series. Highly recommend!
