Hot on the heels of the successful fall 2013 DVD launch which garnered numerous parenting awards and critical acclaim, the Drawing with Mark series continues with two new titles Drawing with MarkSomething Fishy/A Day at the Aquarium and Drawing with Mark: Good to Grow/Life on the Farm. The two new titles will be released on DVD and digital platforms on March 14, 2104 by Shelter Island.

The Parents’ Choice winning series is also a Dr. Toy winner for “best vacation” product. Recently approved by Kids FIRST!, the Drawing with Mark series teaches children of all ages the fundamentals of drawing through simple basic art lessons. The series discusses shapes, parallel lines, shading, dimension, stick figures and action lines so a budding artist can feel comfortable moving forward and expanding his/her creativity. Each DVD consists of two 30-minute episodes that combine a field trip to a cool destination with two drawing lessons relating to the field trip, colorful animation, fun facts, trivia, and suggested reading books. The Drawing with Mark series is targeted to children ages 5 to 9 years old.

Drawing with Mark: Something Fishy and A Day at the Aquarium

Viewers learn all about fish and sea life when Mark Marderosian visits the Wood Hole Science Aquarium. They will learn to draw a sea turtle, a school of fish, a sea star and a seal. Special Bonus segment: How to make an origami fish.  

We received this fun DVD and it really is wonderful for young children! The drawing lessons are fun and easy to follow along with and the Origami Fish are really cool! My son and his friend enjoyed making the fish! What I like best is that the DVD is great for young children ages 5+. I highly recommend this DVD!

 

Drawing with Mark: Good to Grow and Life on the Farm

Mark Marderosian makes two journeys to a farm where visitors learn to draw a barn, a cute little pig, tractor and a sunflower. Special Bonus segment: Learn to make a horse puppet.

A former Disney illustrator, Mark Marderosian’s teaching style is inviting, warm and extraordinarily nurturing. He’s a natural born educator. Marderosian and designer/animator Robert Palmer Jr. created the television series Drawing with Mark. Mark Marderosian is a well-respected professional cartoonist and illustrator with over 25 years of experience working with nationally known brands in children’s media, publishing, entertainment and animation. Marderosian designed and developed art and illustrations for countless media and toy companies including Walt Disney Productions, Universal Theme Parks, and Hasbro toys.  Marderosian’s contributions were integral in the art illustrations of major publishers as he was responsible for drawing books featuring the Disney characters and Disney Princesses. Among the other characters he is known for drawing include Mulan, Jessica Rabbit, the Little Mermaid, Jimmy Neutron, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and the initial Toy Story merchandise.
