What’s a song and how do you make one?
Mil’s Trills’ new show, Something from Nothing, takes kids and their families through a gateway into the creative process. Using voice, movement and drawing, the audience is led through a collaborative shared songwriting experience that will reveal the artist within!
Original music weaves throughout interactive melody, rhythm and lyric building exercises that illustrate themes of mindfulness and social emotional awareness. Together, we will navigate the unexpected. spark imaginations, and arrive at a place of musical wonder!
Mil’s Trills is a Brooklyn-based children’s music project dedicated to creating positive inclusive experiences that empower and embrace young audiences and families through music. Mil’s Trills is led by musician and teaching artist Amelia Robinson (Jubilation Foundation Fellow 2018-19) who performs lively tunes on her electric ukulele with the help of a cast of musical guests. Her most recent album, Ridiculous Nonsense (NAPPA, Parents’ Choice GOLD) emphasizes the value of play in the creative process.
Mil’s Trills music was featured on Michelle Obama’s children’s album, Songs for a Healthier America, produced as part of the Let’s Move! initiative.
