Celebrate Children & Families in Little Tokyo with Fiesta Matsuri on May 5th!

Go Little Tokyo for Fiesta Matsuri on Sunday, May 5th! Hosted by the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC), Fiesta Matsuri is a free cross-cultural celebration combining Children’s Day in two communities—Kodomo no hi in Japan and Dîa de los niños in Mexico. Both holidays celebrate the growth, happiness, and success of children and immerse families in the vibrant traditions through art, dance, and song. Enjoy a free day of workshops and performances for the whole family.
In partnership with Visual Communications, Fiesta Matsuri will include and host one of the opening weekend events of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival for a selection of films called “Kids Shorts (Not the Kind You Wear)” on Sunday, May 5th at 11 AM in the Aratani Theatre. This family-friendly program showcases films highlighting stories of courage, determination, fascinations, and plain old hunger.
