Virtual Lecture Series: Penguins

Explore the world of penguins and the story behind the penguin colony at the Aquarium of the Pacific during a virtual lecture the first Wednesday of March. Everyone is invited to join Aquarium Assistant Curator Rob Mortensen and Frankie Lil, aviculturist II/bird expert, as they discuss this and more. Penguins evolved millions of years ago. Some species are localized and others are widespread, but all species head to the ocean and cover great distances in search of food. During this virtual lecture, speakers will delve into this along with the role penguins play in their ecosystems. In addition to talking about the life histories of many penguin species, get an insider’s perspective on the Aquarium’s penguin colony to discover more about the lives of the birds in the June Keyes Penguin Habitat and the Aquarium’s role in penguin conservation.

Cost: Free, virtual lecture (no reservations are required)
