I’m so excited to share that on Tuesday, April 4, “Spring-a-ling Surprise,” an adorable new Amazon Original Special from the award- winning children’s series Tumble Leaf, is set to “spring” onto Prime Video for kids and families across the country!

In “Spring-a-ling Surprise,” everyone helps Bloom the bunny hunt for his lost eggs, which he plans to plant for a spectacular spring surprise, while Fig the fox uncovers many other signs of spring along the way!
Here’s more on Tumble Leaf:

Created by Drew Hodges (Community, SNL) and executive produced by Hodges and Kelli Bixler (The Roadents) of the award-winning studio Bix Pix Entertainment, Tumble Leaf follows Fig, a small blue fox, who lives in a whimsical land where he discovers adventure, friendship and love around every bend. The series reinforces the importance of learning through play, as it helps children understand the world around them. Tumble Leaf features the voice talent of Christopher Downs as Fig, Brooke Wolloff as Maple, Zac McDowell as Hedge, Addie Zintel as Pine, and Alex Trugman as Ginkgo.

Featuring lush worlds and playful stop-motion animation, Tumble Leaf has garnered multiple Daytime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Animated Program, and just received four 2017 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. The show has also earned the Jury Award for a TV series at the 2014 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the 2015 Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production for Preschool Children and a 2015 Parents’ Choice Gold Award.

Cleo is Pet of the Week!

unnamed (2)

Cleo will come pattering (sorry—we couldn’t resist it) out from her little barge as soon as she senses the security of a person willing to be patient and kind. So often, pets get left at our shelter without knowing what the deal is and why they aren’t in their safe places anymore—if they had one. Cleo’s a royal seal-point Siamese who’s about 2 years old and has plenty of good years to share with the right people. Meet her at the Companion Animal Village at 7700 East Spring St., (562) 570-PETS. Ask for ID#A573245.

(This rescue encouraged by the usual suspects.)

Completing the 30’s look are distinct torchiere lamps, which give the room a soft, retro glow. So order a cocktail, sit back and enjoy this treasured downtown tradition.

Healing Arts Reaching Kids Presents

ROCK FOR HARK

Featuring THREE DOG NIGHT

Hollywood Roosevelt • Sunday, April 30, 2017

Celebrities Scout Compton, Jane Lynch, LA Kings Players Set to Attend

Healing Arts Reaching Kids (HARK), a non-profit organization that brings healing and coping techniques through creative experiences to children with illnesses and injuries, is proud to announce the launch of their inaugural Rock for HARK Charity event for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Sunday, April 30th at 8 p.m. The benefit concert will feature a one-of-a-kind concert performance by legendary rock group Three Dog Night at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt. Celebrity guests Scout Compton (Nashville)Jane Lynch (Glee), and 10 players from the LA Kings are expected to attend and show their support for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

While Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is a world-renowned medical facility and Three Dog Night is the iconic, American pop/rock band with hits like “Joy to the World” and “Mama Told Me Not to Come”, it is HARK, the little engine that could, bringing them together for its very first Rock for HARK benefit.

Not only does HARK fund arts activities for the young patients and their families, they also provide critical financial support to the hospital’s Expressive Arts Therapy Program through which trained art and music therapists administer proven healing methods to thousands of patients annually. Research demonstrates that these therapies have significant medical benefits, such as decreased stress and anxiety, lowered blood pressure, increased coping skills and self-awareness, minimized pain perception, among other effects.

Now in its 10th year, Healing Arts Reaching Kids (HARK) has offered the calming, joy-filled experience of the creative arts to the young patients at the award-winning facility. HARK, an all-volunteer affiliate of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, provides art supplies, hands-on art workshops, one-on-one art and music play, and other guided activities that foster creativity and allow kids to express themselves.

For most of those years, Danny Hutton, founder/lead singer of Three Dog Night, has actively supported his wife’s commitment to HARK and the kids at Children’s Hospital by donating art supplies and volunteering his time at the art shows and fund-raisers. This year Danny decided to help launch Rock for HARK by bringing Three Dog Night’s live performance to The Hollywood Roosevelt and donating a full concert to HARK to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“I am over the moon to have them play for our Rock for HARK event,” adds Laurie Hutton, president of HARK, “and I hope everyone knows what an awesome venue this is!  We’ll be in the Blossom Ballroom at the Hollywood Roosevelt, where the first academy awards were held, and having a fabulous champagne pre-concert party where patrons will be able to purchase the kids’ artwork.”

For Danny it’s a simple equation, “I think it’s a wonderful thing for the children;” he offers, “plus the people who attend the benefit concert will have fun and the proceeds will go to help the kids in need.”   Three Dog Night performs all over America throughout the year to sold out audiences who are excited to hear well-known songs like “Black and White”, “Shambala”, “One”, “Eli’s Coming” and“Celebrate”. “There are 21 Top-40 hits and we only play our hits in concert” says Danny, “and even then, there is not enough time to do them all!”

Beyond having a great time and raising money for the hospital’s Expressive Arts Therapy Program, HARK also hopes to raise awareness about the importance of these therapies for the young patients.  “We hope to help people understand the amount of healing these therapies provide and many people don’t realize that insurance does not cover Art and Music therapy for the kids,” explains Laurie.

The Rock for HARK charity event begins at 6:30 pm with the pre-concert party and art sale. Three Dog Night performance begins at 8 p.m.  VIP ticket holders will enjoy reserved seating and access to an after show meet and greet, including photo ops, with Three Dog Night.   Benefit Tickets are $150 per person; VIP Tickets are $250 and are available through the HARK website:www.healingartsreachingkids.org on now.

HealingArts Reaching Kids missions is to bring healing and coping techniques through creative experiences that allow children to express their fears and triumphs that may be a part of their illness or injury.  The organization hopes to bring the much-needed supplies, as well as, hands on art, music, poetry, and creative writing opportunities to critically ill and injured children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. HARK’s goal is to provide a hospital-wide environment splashed with color, poetry and music, from children’s art and poetry displayed in the lobby to the sounds of music from patient rooms.

At 5 O’Clock today, Universal CityWalk toasted the official arrival of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant to its destination marking the occasion with an exciting performance by singer, songwriter and best-selling author, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band.

Hundreds of Parrotheads and fans alike joined in the celebration that also marked the first-ever Margaritaville restaurant to open in California.

Jimmy Buffett said, “I walked onto the site of CityWalk when it was still under construction, and my first thought was ‘I want a Margaritaville here.’ Thanks to the great folks at Universal, we made it.  It’s great to play at the opening and I look forward to visiting regularly on my journeys to the West Coast.  Fins Up!”

“Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville is a perfect complement to Universal CityWalk,” said Karen Irwin, President and COO, Universal Studios Hollywood. “With its inviting tropical vibe, incredible selection of Margaritas and signature dishes, Margaritaville offers another exceptional dining experience at CityWalk that everyone can enjoy.”
