Golf_Gift_Free_Markers_RBCOMBO

Putt A Round is the perfect golf gift for Dad this Fathers Day! It is a fun portable and interactive golf tool that the whole family will love!  Buy it for Dad to practice his putting for at home and at the office.    This gift is extremely affordable ($39.97) and compact for travel.

Putt A Rounds are completely customizable! They offer a huge selection of colors and can even print company logos or personal design on the flags.

For Father’s Day, there is a standard blue “#1 Dad” flag available but for more personalization customers can print a family photo, monogrammed initials and even a blank flag with fabric markers so kids can draw their own design for Dad.

Putt A Round Ball Targets are capable of catching golf balls from 360º. Unlike most practice putting cups, there is no need to turn the device to face you prior to practice. You can practice putting from any direction just like you do on the driving range. The base and flag pole are made of quality anodized aluminum, and the flags are stitched and dyed in America and each unit weighs less than a pound. Putt A Rounds are designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA.

Dad

We received one of these to try out and had a lot of fun! It is so easy to use that it is great for the whole family. We were going to wait until Father’s Day to play with the Put A Round but we just couldn’t wait. What I really like is that it is so easy to take with you anywhere or you can just stay at home and play. Dad can easily take this to the office with him and I love the idea that customers can also personalize the flag or kids can draw their own designs. SoCal City Kids gives this a thumbs up! The whole family will love this one!

unnamed

Renowned mobile app company LANDKA has created the highly anticipated and stunningly beautiful new Kiwaka game and Kiwaka Story eBook for iPad and iPhone, a combination of education and entertainment displaying over 120 revolutionary space images from the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and other leading scientific organizations to delve deeper into the fascinating subject of astronomy.

According to an ancient legend, “Fireflies carry the light from the stars.” In the breathtaking learning adventure game Kiwaka, the player’s mission is to catch fireflies and as the game progresses the user will light up the stars in the night sky to reveal the worl  d’s wo ndrous constellations. A visually striking star map is provided through out the game showing what constellations have been restored, along with their hidden mysteries and ancient myths.

The story of the characters is told on a children’s Book app called Kiwaka Story. The night sky is full of remarkable stories and this endearing and interactive book will unveil them for users of all ages. The book is narrated by actor Diogo Morgado (Star of SON OF GOD) and the soundtrack  was written by American composer David Ari Leon who is well-known from his work on Marvel and Disney films including SPIDER MAN and INCREDIBLE HULK.

The ESA and the ESO are the foremost intergovernmental astronomy organizations in Europe and the some of the world’s most productive astronomical research institutes. The app users will also be provided with links to content produced by these organizations, where they can explore the cosmos further.

We had the opportunity to check this out for ourselves and are impressed! My son loves Astronomy and I was blown away by the breath-taking animation! I highly recommend for children of all ages. My favorite thing is the star map that is shown through out the game and I loved learning or re-learning about the different myths. A must-have for any child who has a love of Astronomy and for those who don’t because maybe they just may want to learn more after viewing the story and playing the game.

Sneak Peaks available below!  Check out the Apple Store to purchase.

Self Disclosure: I received free codes to check out both the game and story apps but any opinions expressed are 100% truthful.

NEW LIVE-ACTION SERIES ODD SQUAD TO PREMIERE ON PBS KIDS
THIS NOVEMBER

Multiplatform media property is designed to help kids ages 5-8 build math skills

PBS Annual Meeting, San Francisco, CA, May 14, 2014 – Today at its annual meeting with PBS member stations from across the country, PBS KIDS announced the premiere date for its newest series ODD SQUAD. The live-action media property follows two young government agents, Olive and Otto, who use math skills and collaboration to investigate weird and unusual phenomena. ODD SQUAD will premiere Wednesday, November 26, 2014, on PBS KIDS with a special one-hour broadcast of two back-to-back episodes, along with integrated digital and offline content. The series will air on weekdays following the premiere (check local listings).

ODD SQUAD is created by Tim McKeon (The Electric Company, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Adventure Time) and Adam Peltzman (The Electric CompanyThe Backyardigans, Wallykazam!) and produced by The Fred Rogers Company and Sinking Ship Entertainment. It is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the U.S. Department of Education through the CPB-PBS Ready To Learn Initiative, a program that supports the development of innovative educational television and digital media targeted to preschool and early elementary school children and their families.

In each episode of ODD SQUAD, the young agents use math to put things right when oddness strikes. Olive and Otto solve cases ranging from disappearing zeroes to runaway dinosaurs, and the agents often find additional clues in the “Mathroom,” a futuristic space that is just a teleport away.

“We are excited to bring a new math show to the PBS KIDS line-up this November, particularly at a time when STEM education is proving to be so important,” said Lesli Rotenberg, General Manager, Children’s Programming, PBS. “Research shows that kids perform better when exposed early to math concepts, and ODD SQUAD introduces these topics in a fun and engaging way. And as viewers join Olive and Otto on their extraordinary adventures, they will also learn the importance of working together, communication and perseverance — skills that are integral to problem-solving and success in school and in life.”

The ODD SQUAD television series is part of a multiplatform media experience that will include interactive content online and on mobile. With ODD SQUAD’s digital content, kids will have the opportunity to solve cases and stop oddness, just like Olive and Otto and the rest of the Odd Squad. The show’s interactive features will include games, parent resources, mobile apps and more.

ODD SQUAD is part of PBS KIDS’ ongoing commitment to use the power of media to help open up worlds of possibilities for children. PBS KIDS serves young audiences wherever they live, learn and play — through educational apps, on TV, online and in the classroom.

Support March of Dimes with Special Fathers Day Recipes & Crafts

Nearly four million healthy babies were born last year thanks to innovations that resulted from funding from the March of Dimes. The 2014 March of Dimes “imbornto” campaign celebrates the fantastic things babies were born to do and thanks the mothers and fathers who brought them into the world.

Through Father’s Day, the Foundation is partnering with media, retailers and brands to remind everyone when they reflect on family that no matter what you were born to do, the March of Dimes helped you get there. Funds raised will help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

How can you help?

This Father’s Day, thank your dad with a Father’s Day meal or craft. Because after all, if there were no dads, there would be no babies, and no you. Check out these recipes and crafts (several below), courtesy of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and help us say, “Thank you,” to your dad.

Folded Shirt Card

Materials

  • 8 1/2-by-14-inch decorative paper
  • Glue

Steps

  • Place paper facedown. Fold in half vertically; unfold. Line up left edge with centerline fold, and crease; repeat with right edge. Unfold, and lay flat.
  • Fold top-left corner in to line up with outermost crease, forming a triangle; repeat on top-right corner. Using index fingers and thumbs, pinch together outside points of each triangle so they meet, and crease.
  • While still pinching triangles, fold down top edge (this will make sleeves).
  • Turn paper upside down, and flip it over. Fold down top edge 3/4 inch.
  • Flip paper over. Fold top left and right corners so tips meet at centerline.
  • Tuck bottom edge under collar, and flatten by creasing. For the tie, cut out an 8-by-1/2-inch strip of decorative paper. Knot paper. Snip close to knot on one side; trim other to a point. Glue to shirt.
