Gorton’s “Real Solutions” Giveaway Opportunity!

artisan_roastedgarlic

I love seafood and Gorton’s is one of my all time favorites! I recently had the opportunity to receive free coupons to review the New Gorton’s Artisan Recipe Fillets and was absolutely thrilled to do so! I tried the Artisan Recipe Fillets Roasted garlic & Italian Herb and also the Lemon & Cracked Peppercorn ones. My favorite of the two is the Roasted Garlic & Italian Herb with real Roasted Garlic & Italian Breadcrumbs. They are delicious! They are also only 160 calories fer fillet.

My favorite way to eat these is make a fish fillet sandwich out of them but I also love them with rice and veggies. I’m still on the look out for the Southwest Tortilla Artisan Fillets and the Southern Style ones! Yum!

Meal Measure by Apothecary Products, Inc. FOR A HEALTHY DIETARY LIFESTYLE!

67875_MealMeasure_Red    meal-measure-portion-control-your-plate-color-blue_130773086652[1]

The Meal Measure system is easy to use as it fits any dinner plate and measures your food on the plate itself. Cavities are labeled vegetable or fruit, starch and protein.

This system is ideal to help you manage your weight, one portion at a time.

Benefits:

  • Fits most dinner plates.
  • Compatible with most portion control diets. My Plate, Power Plate, Native Plate, ect.
  • Each cavity holds one cup to the top and half a cup to the line marked.
  • Protein portion is the size of a deck of cards with thickness guideline.
  • Top rack dishwasher safe and made in the USA..

Why do I need Meal Measure?

Meal Measure is helpful whether you are a diabetic or weight management is your concern. You don’t have to use measuring cups or scales to figure out just the right food portions for your meals.

All you need is your Meal Measure, which will fit on all standard sized dinner plates…just this one easy-to-use, easy-to-clean item, and you’re all set!

How do I use Meal Measure?

It’s very easy. Each section of the Meal Measure is labeled. You will find a section for vegetables or fruit, for protein and for starchy foods which are usually your carbohydrates…like potatoes, rice or pasta.

Each cavity equals 1 cup, and if your diet only calls for 1/2 a cup, no problem, there is a line marking 1/2 a cup inside each cavity.

Using it is as simple as can be, just put it on your plate, put the appropriate foods into the appropriate sections, remove the Meal Measure, and spread the food out so it looks like your plate has more in it – this helps you mentally when you’re eating for weight loss. Now it’s time to enjoy your meal…eat slowly and savor each bite.

Tip: Remember that certain foods are so extremely low in calories that you can fill the “emptiness” on your plate with them; this would include salad greens and other salad items like cucumbers, green peppers and tomatoes – any similar vegetable that does not contain high carbohydrate content. Your Salad Dressing could be the problem here, solve that by sprinkling with a little Balsamic Vinegar, or using no more than 2 table spoons of Fat Free salad dressing.

I received samples to review and found that Meal Measure is so simple to use! I agree that although my New Year’s resolution has been to eat healthier, exercise more ..I did not realize that portion control was so important. This really helps keep portions the correct size! What a great way to be healthier! It is also easy to clean. It can go in the dishwasher and it can also be recycled.

Meal Measure can be seen at www.mealmeasure.com.

Antboy – A Calmer Type of Super-Hero KIDS FIRST! Coming Attractions, www.kidsfirst.org

Antboy

With Super Heroes all the rage, Antboy is a bit different – in a good way. Based on a popular Danish comic, this is a good film for younger kids who may find the super charged super hero films like Spider-Man, Captain America and The Avengers a bit too much action for them. The story follows a young boy who is bitten by and ant and develops super powers. He is aided by a comic book nerd and, of course, has to deal with a super villain. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Anthony A, age 12 says, “I think this movie is pretty cool. It is funny and has a small amount of action.” His full review is below.

Antboy is based on a popular Danish comic book series and although I have never read the comic series, I think this movie is pretty cool. It is funny and has a small amount of action. It is really good and I think other kids would enjoy it too.

This movie is about a boy named Pelle who is bitten by a rare and genetically altered ant. This ant gives Pelle superpowers. Eventually, Pelle realizes these super powers only work when he eats sugar. He finds out his real powers when he runs into a boy named Wilhelm, who later becomes his friend and helps him discover what super powers he has. Pelle decides that his super hero name is going to be Antboy. When a super villain named “The Flea” captures a girl and invades the school, Antboy has to figure out how to stop him.

The main characters in the movie are Pelle, Wilhelm, Ida and the Flea. My favorite character in this movie is Wilhelm because he is a really nice guy and he is the reason Pelle decides to help people and become Antboy. He also loves comics and, while I wouldn’t say I love comics, I do like them.

My favorite part in the movie is when Pelle figures out his super powers. He can bite through hard things. He can climb walls. He is really strong and his pee is acid. Sadly, his super hero powers only work when he has eaten sugar. Sometimes he doesn’t realize he has eaten any sugar at all. Sometimes he sleepwalks and eats all the candy in the house.

I recommend this movie for ages 5 to 10 because it is really good with a lot of weird and quirky action. It is more of a movie for younger kids since teens and adults usually prefer films with more action.
