GO-FAME YOUTH THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS HILARIOUS, HISTORICAL MELODRAMA “Mixed Signals from Signal Hill” August 24-25, 2013 GO-FAME Studio in the Long Beach Towne Center

GO-FAME Youth Theatre Company winds up the 2012-2013 season with MIXED SIGNALS FROM SIGNAL HILL (or Black Gold and the Silver Screen), running just one weekend August 24-25 at the GO-FAME Studio in the Long Beach Towne Center.

The year is 1921, and the Jazz Age is just beginning. Suzy and her mother are happily farming on Signal Hill, when they are invaded from two directions: an oil prospector who wants their land and a silent film company that finds peril in every pasture. Characters include low-down, no-good villains, sweet and feisty heroines and a brave, if not too bright, hero. Add historical figures such as Jessie Nelson (Signal Hill’s first mayor and California’s first female mayor), Kid Mexico (a boxing champion and Signal Hill businessman), the Keystone Kops, and a bevy of Bathing Beauties, and you have a history-based, slapstick comedy complete with chases, damsels in distress and gushing oil wells.

Put on your glad rags and Charleston with us as we cheer for our hero, boo and hiss at the villains and sigh for our damsels in our interactive, melodrama production of MIXED SIGNALS FROM SIGNAL HILL!

Show times are Saturday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 25 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for General Admission, seating at tables of four. You can purchase tickets online at www.GO-FAME.org or at the box office 30 minutes prior to show time. The GO-FAME Studio is located at 7378 Carson Blvd. in the Long Beach Towne Center (Carson St. & 605 freeway), next to Staples. Event parking is free. The show is approximately 75 minutes long in one act. Out of respect for our youth performers, we request no babes in arms in the theater. Regardless of age, every guest must have a ticket and be able to sit quietly through the performance. For more information, visit our website, www.GO-FAME.org .
