Red Holliday Studios, LLC  Founder and Designer Lori Holliday introduces Gallo en Fuego (guy-o en fway-go, “Rooster on Fire” in Spanish), a new collection of men’s and boy’s accessories and pet products including belts, wallets, dog collars and leashes made from decommissioned fire hoses.  A range of custom designed logo’d T-shirts for men and boys are also offered.

At Gallo en Fuego’s custom workshop, the hoses are cleaned with all of their individual character kept intact. Both the inner rubber lining and the tough woven exterior become the raw materials used to hand-craft Gallo en Fuego’s distinctive collection of wallets, belts, and other products.

Gallo en Fuego is proud to source most of the hoses used to make their products from New York City. There, after years on the battle-lines, even the toughest fire hoses have to retire from the field. And as their history shows, many of the hoses carry distinctive marks from the fire ground.

Gallo en Fuego is honored to partner with The National Fallen Firefighters Association in their mission to remember America’s fallen fire heroes and assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives.  A portion of the proceeds from each sale of Gallo en Fuego products goes to help the families of those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Inspired by her husband Mark, a firefighter for fifteen years, Holliday wanted to honor him and his fellow heroes, who put their own lives on the line each day.

“Being married to a fireman has more than safety perks.  It sparked my design inspiration too.  When fire hose is past its action-packed prime, it is decommissioned with little chance for a second life.  Gallo en Fuego takes those spent pieces and transforms them into stylish wearable accessories for men, boys and pets.

Holliday grew up on a cotton farm near Phoenix in a large family with 13 siblings and has learned the value of craftsmanship, repurposing and enhancing the beauty of all things old.   She is also the founder and designer of 2 Red Hens (www.2redhens.com) which makes a range of must-have essentials and accessories for mom and baby.

All Gallo en Fuego products are proudly made in the USA.  The Gallo en Fuego collection is available at www.galloenfuego.com, www.uncommongoods.com and at select boutique retailers nationwide.
